PREFACE
This is was the first time we were associated with a NGO, living away from home and helping out people with
the best of our knowledge and skills, we were delighted to be in the Delhi NCR e.g., Greater Noida. The
SAARTHI welfare society impowered communities and individuals. The NGO work towards empowering
lives and serving to needs of people and work towards upbringing of the societies. Raising funds for NGO is
the most crucial task for social organizations and we took up the task of helping the NGO in doing so. Our
mission at the NGO was to look into various activities and help the NGO. The time was constraint though,
one week was too less a time to accomplish herculean tasks of raising funds for the NGO. Because of a recent
fire break down in the country (COVID-19) there were various constraints but We learnt to overcome them
and work towards achieving the goals. Working at the NGO was totally a new experience in itself, we visited
the Nearby arear of GREATER NOIDA and distribute slippers among them, who work hard all day in this
burning summer. The organization SAARTHI was helping them in their art and reaching out to the people on
their behalf. This in itself gave a sense of accomplishment
for the trust and pride for ourselves to be working with the organization, which was working for such a great
cause.

Introduction
SAARTHI WELFARE SOCIETY (NGO)
“उम्मीद से मंज़िल तक”
Saarthi Welfare Society
(Public Welfare Forum)
The project was to help the people in need, and to create awareness for the NGO. The use of digital marketing
was essential to boost the presence of NGO across geographies. SAARTHI is a non-governmental
organization registered as a public charitable trust in Bareilly, India.
SAARTHI’S mission is to cultivate and nurture a strong, helpful community. Community that is willing to
help the people in need. They provide assistance to the people who are in need of help with the cooperation
of their members who are empowered voluntarily from diverse places. They are 100+ members family now

where all residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services
and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. The organization has various program
running for children, youth & women.
8
The main concern of the NGO was its awareness, it was hardly noticeable. Major part of the project was to
create awareness of NGO across India. Spreading awareness across different locations was something that
could be addressed using the Google Grant. The Google Grant allows the NGOs to run their advertisement for
free and highlight the organization across different Geographies. In addition to this I was responsible to reach
out to corporates and pitch in as a representative from SAARTHI and would encourage corporates to enter to
tie ups with SAARTHI.
Apart from this there were regular fields visits to various centres of SAARTHI. A field visit to slum areas in
(Greater Noida) and distributed slippers to them. SAARTHI envisions inclusive and empowered communities
and individuals. The program aims at making human settlements equitable living environments where all
residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and
livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. The organization has various program
running for children, youth & women.
The funds for the projects are raised from various channels as mentioned below:
 Crowd funding platforms
 SAATH Website (Donation Platform)
 CSR association with corporates
 Individual or Corporate Donations
The main concern of the NGO was its awareness, it was hardly noticeable.

General Research Questions
Here, we have made research for the NGO and made some questionnaire which we have made filled from the
coordinators and the volunteers of our NGO and we have made filled in online by making the distributing the
questionnaire to all and we all team members got it filled by them. The questionnaire which we have prepared
they are as follows: -
Q.1 What inspired you to found an NGO rather than a business or a school?
Q.2 What was the most challenging problem you faced in the leadership and management of your NGO?
Q.3 What can you say is your best reward for choosing to found your NGO?
Q.4 How has your work experience prepared you for this position?
Q.5 How much time do you plan to spend volunteering each week?
Q.6 What are the public problems that matter to you and what do you think is the solution?
These questions we have made for the coordinators and volunteers and we have got it filled by them and we
will attach this form too.
This question describes the relation of the coordinators with the NGO and these questions tell how the NGO
started and how they are working with their volunteers in the field work.
Field Work
Here we have done the field work as a drive was organised by our NGO in Greater Noida in Delhi NCRwhere
we all volunteers were called to do the slipper distribution drive. Here we all have the task to do give the
slippers to the poor people in that area and to make the poor people happy. When we have started the drive
from Greater Noida, we all are excited to do that drive and by personally my group was more eager to do that
the work in the NGO and how they use to do work in the society to help the poor peoples. We started going
with our Vehicle and started to search where are the poor people are living in that place. When we found them,
we collected all their family members started distributing the slippers among them. After the distribution to
them the slippers they all blessed us and to our NGO too and they were telling that we should come again for
the drive like this. As a personal experience of me the blessing which I had got it means for my life and my
10
friends too all were working there. We all have visited too parks, temples, traffic signals, metro stations and
many more places too. While doing the slipper distribution we found many small children and we gave them
the slippers and fruits too. When we are distributing the slippers, we met with old age ladies and uncles and
they have asked many questions about our family and what we are doing currently in our life. And, we all
volunteers asked them individually that how do they get their food, what their family do in all day and what
type of work they do in their daily life and how they gather their daily food, they were also telling that some
days they do not get food to eat and they have to sleep at night without eating food in a day. They were also
telling that some days we get work and sometimes they don’t they have money for their food too. They were
telling that their life has very much problems and they shared all their issues with us.

METHODOLOGY
Scope – The scope of the project was to create awareness of the NGO and reach as much people as possible.
It was essential to have global presence that is to have online presence, make field visits to villages where the
ancient arts are still existing and create awareness of the arts and the artisans. It was also essential to reach out
to corporates to involve them for CSR activities which can help NGOs fund their projects
Methodology
Research can be defined as “an activity that involves finding out, in a more or less systematic way, things you
did not know”.
“Methodology is the philosophical framework within which the research is conducted or the foundation upon
which the research is based”.
Research Methodology chapter of a research describes research methods, approaches and designs in detail
highlighting those used throughout the study, justifying my choice through describing advantages and
disadvantages of each approach and design taking into account their practical applicability to our research.
The framework which is associated with a particular set of paradigmatic assumptions that we will use to
conduct our research.
When conducting a research methodology should meet the following two criteria:
 The methodology should be the most appropriate to achieve objectives of the research.
 It should be made possible to replicate the methodology used in other researches of the same nature.
Types of Research Methodology:
1. Qualitative Researchrefers to research which focuses on collecting and analysing words (written or
spoken) and textual data. Qualitative analysis can also focus on other “softer” data points, such as body
language or visual elements. It’s quite common for a qualitative methodology to be used when the
research aims and objectives are exploratory in nature. For example, a qualitative methodology might
be used to understand peoples’ perceptions about an event that took place, or a candidate running for
president.
2. Quantitative Researchfocuses on measurement and testing using numerical data.
a quantitative methodology is typically used when the research aims and objectives
are confirmatory in nature. For example, a quantitative methodology might be used to measure the
relationship between two variables e.g., personality type and likelihood to commit a crime or to test
a set of hypotheses.
23
3. Mixed-Method methodology attempts to combine the best of both qualitative and quantitative
methodologies to integrate perspectives and create a rich picture.
Method of the study:
 A research method is a systematic plan for conducting research.
 Research methods are a variety of techniques that people use when studying a given
phenomenon.
 Research methods help us collect samples, data and find a solution to a problem.
 The research method can either be qualitative or quantitative or mixed. Quantitative methods
examine numerical data and often require the use of statistical tools to analyse the data
collected.
 This allows for the measurement of variables and relationships between them can then be
established. This type of data can be represented using table, pie charts and bar graphs
 Quantitative data is non-numerical and focuses on establishing patterns. Mixed methods are
composed of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Mixed methods allow for the
explanation of unexpected results.
 There are several methods of conducting research. The selection of the research method is
determined by the nature of the problem. The variables involved in this study are lack of
interest, negative attitude etc which cannot be studied in any artificial setting.
 Hence, the investigator considered and selected the quasi-experimental method of research as
the most appropriate method for conducting the present study.
 The prefix quasi means "resembling." Thus, quasi experimental research is research that
resembles experimental research but is not true experimental research.
 However, like a true experiment, a quasi- experimental design aims to establish a cause-and
effect relationship between an independent and dependent variable. Here the independent
variable is manipulated before the dependent variable is measured
 Quasi-experiments are most likely to be conducted in field settings in which random
assignment is difficult or impossible. They are often conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of
a treatment-perhaps a type of psychotherapy or an educational intervention.
 Questionnaire is one of many forms of quasi-experimental design. Here data is collected by
conducting pre-test and post-test using a question paper.
 Questionnaire based on purposeful sampling allows for assessment of specific representatives
of a population of interest, but not of the population as a whole
24
What are the main data collection methods?
 Interviews (which can be unstructured, semi-structured or structured)
 Focus groups and group interviews
 Surveys (online or physical surveys)
 Observations
 Documents and records
 Case studies
Strategy used:
NGO Awareness
•Online Presence
•Digital Marketing
Approach existing donors for donations.
•Cold Calling
•E-newsletter
Look for new leads by carrying out field visits
. •Drafting Proposals
•Meeting the CSR
The methodology can be split into 3 steps:
1. Creating NGO Awareness – Building awareness for NGO was the primary goal. The various campaigns
run by the NGO lacked online visibility. It was essential to boost the online presence of the NGO. Running
Google AdWords for the same would help in creating the awareness.
2. Approach existing donors for donations – Reach out to existing donors, who are in touch with the NGO
in the past and approach them for funding the exiting & upcoming projects of the organizations.
3. Look for new leads by carrying out field visits – Look for potential leads or corporates who would be
willing to
Mission
25
To make human equitable living environments where all vulnerable people have access to health, education,
and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. To make their life easy and fulfil daily
need.
Approach
SAARTHI pioneered the integrated community development program approach that seeks to turn slums into
vibrant neighbourhoods. and provide shelter to animals.
The various programs of SAARTHI are as follows:
 CYBER SECURITY
 WOMEN SAFETY
 ANIMAL WELFARE
 DISTRIBUTION DRIVE
26
PROBLEMS & CHALLENGES
There were certain issues that were highlighted at the NGO
 The organization lacked awareness.
 The website was not listed on the first page of Google Search.
 Different searches for NGO or CSR were unable to get the website on the first page.
 The actual projects were not being highlighted as the stories were not highlighted efficiently.
 The organization lacked tracking of the corporate leads.
 The corporate funding questionnaire was not efficient to capture the complete data.
 The organization lacked awareness among corporates.
 There was a need to reach to corporates in person to present the projects undergone in SAARTHI and pitch
in for long term tie ups.
 While we are doing our drive of slipper distribution, we were distributing the slippers, but some of the
persons were denying to take slippers.
 And, some of them were demanding about their size and some of them were telling that they want a
particular colour of slippers to wear.
 Mostly peoples were having the slippers in a good condition but they still want a new one to wear.
 Many peoples after seeing us distributing the slippers the people and their family members were coming to
us with naked feet even, they have slippers.
These were the big problems which was faced by us while doing the distribution drive.
27
SWOT ANALYSIS OF SAARTHI
28
Strength
1. Increased revenue, especially online donations. Social channels are increasingly being used as a part
of overall plan.
2. Making some progress in integrating fundraising across channels. Doing some innovative campaigns.
3. Increasing focus on design, user experience, and content.
4. Strong connection with communities, global network, transparency, staff expertise and consistent
funding efforts.
Weakness
1. No Visibility of organisation – The website does not list on the first page of the Google search. The people
looking for NGOs on Internet are not aware of the organization SAARTHI. It is essential to boost the visibility
by listing the website on the first page.
2. Running Short of funds – The NGOs is looking out for funds to fund the existing and upcoming projects
and needs to tie up with corporates for CSR activities.
3. Lack of awareness of the Pillars on which SAARTHI work.
Opportunities
1. Website Exists - https://www.saarthi0105.org/ The website of the NGO was in place and there was an
opportunity to highlight it to the right audience. The specific pages existed for different projects
2. Use of Google Ad Grant – Google AdWords is Google's advertising system which allows users to
advertise and bid on certain keywords so that the clickable ads appear in Google’s search results.
3. Existing leads for corporates – There exists certain leads of corporates who can be approached over call
to support the projects at SAARTHI.
Threats
1. Limited resources to carry out the tasks – The NGO faces stiff challenges in carrying out multiple tasks
due to lack of resources. The resources are handling multiple projects and have to entertain multiple requests
catering to different sectors.
2. Corporates already involved with other NGOs – While following up leads for corporates, many of the
corporates have already tie ups with other NGOs and some of those have their own non- profit institutions to
which they channelize their CSR activities. The other companies are willing to fund specific projects such as
funds related to children or women etc.
29
ANALYSIS OF FINDINGS
Visibility - The NGO lacks visibility and thus the visibility on the Google search needs to be enhanced. The
Google Ad Grant provided by Google would help to boost up the same. Until now the NGO has never used
Google AdWords and thus the website was never listed on the first page of the Google search result. Google
provides Google Ad Grants Account to NGOs with following services:
• only run keyword-targeted campaigns
• only run text ads
• only run ads on Google search result pages and not on the Google Network
• run ads for as long as your organization remains actively engaged with your AdWords account
Field Visit – Regular field visit help them to finding needed children, women, homeless and shelter less
animals.
Support rural or slums to live or get proper life and help.
Take benefits of schemes.
Take the benefits of drive on daily basis.
It is essential to visit these areas and slums to capture the real story and motives of them and then prepare a
story to propagate on social media platforms for awareness.
30
Fund Raising with Corporates – The organization already had few leads of corporates which can be reached
for CSR activities. it was essential to reach out to them with proper proposals so as to look up for long term
relationship. There was potential in nearby areas but the corporates lacked awareness of the organization.
Thus, reaching out to new corporates and spreading awareness also needs to be addressed. it was essential to
capture the data regarding the corporate donations done by the corporates so a questionnaire was necessary to
capture the data. The old questionnaire exists for the survey which needs to be redesigned so as to capture the
data of the corporates which can be used for future follow ups. The existing data of the corporates needs to be
analysed so as to approach the right corporate at the right time to fund the projects.
Field Implementations
Enhanced Visibility – The application for Google Grant was approved by Google and gave the opportunity
to run Google AdWords for the organization for free. The Google AdWords campaign was run strategically
to highlight various activities at SAARTHI. Various campaigns were designed for the organization and are
listed below:
 Fundraising event (mehfil-e-alfaaz) 26th December 2021
31
 Breast cancer awareness campaign
 Clothes distribution drive 2nd January 2022
 Women safety field work 5th December at MJPRU, Bareilly
32
 Annapurti event 28th November 2021

are from both side.

CONCLUSION
Working with the NGO was a delightful experience, the one month with the organization not only helped me
to work for social cause but also helped me to gain exposure in fund raising and business development for the
organization. Working for NGO was a challenge in itself, however planning the tasks made the journey
pleasant and easy. Sticking to the roadmap was the strategy throughout. After working for 1 month. I came
across various challenges and tried best approaches to overcome them. There were various best practices
followed and would recommend to be followed by the organization throughout to have an edge over the others.
The recommendation can be summarized as below:
1. First and foremost the website needs to be updated at the earliest. These days website is the new face of the
organization over Internet. The current website is not attractive and has a lot of defects which needs to be
rectified. The website can help to gather more traffic and if the appeal is sympathetic might lead to donations.
2. The Google AdWords campaign was run during this span of 1 month and received an overwhelming
response. The campaigns for the CSR activities gathered the highest number of impressions and the clicks.
3.The campaign created awareness among the society The campaigns must be run throughout and there must
be activity of distribution of clothes, slippers, water bottle, food packets, etc. we also help them by donating
some funds.

RECOMMENDATIONS
We as a group want to recommend some of the points to the NGO: -
 The NGO should open their branches in many parts of the country.
 NGO should generate funds from the government.
 NGO should create Partnerships
 NGOs should link other donors too for the funds.
 They should update the template of their Budget.
 They should always ask for their feedback.
 They should also give better education to backward classes children and give them good education
facility.
 As, I have seen many of the NGOs are taking care of children of SEX WORKERS, KINNER like this
all NGOs should start this in their NGOs to help them as they are neglected from the society.

  • 4. 4 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT We would like to express our special thanks of gratitude to our university (GALGOTIAS UNIVERSITY) Greater Noida. we would like to extend our thanks to our professor ------- and who help us by guiding and coordinate and giving us an opportunity to work with non-profit organization- SAARTHI. Working with SAARTHI welfare society provide us the opportunity to learn about different initiatives taken by the organization in the upbringing of the societies. It also gave us the insights about various challenges faced by people living in slims and different ways how to approach the problem. we express our gratitude to the members of the NGO for helping us out as and when needed during our project. The various opportunities at the NGO have immensely helped us in shaping up our research project and also helped us in understanding the values that the NGO contributes. we would like to extend a vote of thanks to the founder of the NGO - Mr. Shubham Agarwal, and coordinator Ms. Daakshi Verma and for their guidance and assistance in facilitating the activities at NGO and interaction among the NGO members and volunteers. We would like to thank --------- – program for giving insights of the program. We would also like to extend my thanks to the fundraising manager and co-founder Mr. Samarth N. He gave us the freedom to make plans for the fund raising by using online presence as a platform and using digital marketing as the stepping stone to the NGO. The field visits for the fund raising of NGO were a cake walk under her supervision. His guidance has immensely helped in interacting with the corporates and establish a first level connect with them. Last but not the least, a special thanks to my mentor Professor Swarnika Pandey who was always there to support be related to Ngo or anything. The project would not have been possible without the active guidance of her. we would really like to appreciate the support and hard work put in by our mentor and would cherish his help for being a great friend.
  • 5. 5 PREFACE This is was the first time we were associated with a NGO, living away from home and helping out people with the best of our knowledge and skills, we were delighted to be in the Delhi NCR e.g., Greater Noida. The SAARTHI welfare society impowered communities and individuals. The NGO work towards empowering lives and serving to needs of people and work towards upbringing of the societies. Raising funds for NGO is the most crucial task for social organizations and we took up the task of helping the NGO in doing so. Our mission at the NGO was to look into various activities and help the NGO. The time was constraint though, one week was too less a time to accomplish herculean tasks of raising funds for the NGO. Because of a recent fire break down in the country (COVID-19) there were various constraints but We learnt to overcome them and work towards achieving the goals. Working at the NGO was totally a new experience in itself, we visited the Nearby arear of GREATER NOIDA and distribute slippers among them, who work hard all day in this burning summer. The organization SAARTHI was helping them in their art and reaching out to the people on their behalf. This in itself gave a sense of accomplishment for the trust and pride for ourselves to be working with the organization, which was working for such a great cause.

  • 8. 8 The main concern of the NGO was its awareness, it was hardly noticeable. Major part of the project was to create awareness of NGO across India. Spreading awareness across different locations was something that could be addressed using the Google Grant. The Google Grant allows the NGOs to run their advertisement for free and highlight the organization across different Geographies. In addition to this I was responsible to reach out to corporates and pitch in as a representative from SAARTHI and would encourage corporates to enter to tie ups with SAARTHI. Apart from this there were regular fields visits to various centres of SAARTHI. A field visit to slum areas in (Greater Noida) and distributed slippers to them. SAARTHI envisions inclusive and empowered communities and individuals. The program aims at making human settlements equitable living environments where all residents and vulnerable people have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. The organization has various program running for children, youth & women. The funds for the projects are raised from various channels as mentioned below:  Crowd funding platforms  SAATH Website (Donation Platform)  CSR association with corporates  Individual or Corporate Donations The main concern of the NGO was its awareness, it was hardly noticeable. General Research Questions Here, we have made research for the NGO and made some questionnaire which we have made filled from the coordinators and the volunteers of our NGO and we have made filled in online by making the distributing the questionnaire to all and we all team members got it filled by them. The questionnaire which we have prepared they are as follows: - Q.1 What inspired you to found an NGO rather than a business or a school? Q.2 What was the most challenging problem you faced in the leadership and management of your NGO? Q.3 What can you say is your best reward for choosing to found your NGO? Q.4 How has your work experience prepared you for this position? Q.5 How much time do you plan to spend volunteering each week? Q.6 What are the public problems that matter to you and what do you think is the solution? These questions we have made for the coordinators and volunteers and we have got it filled by them and we will attach this form too. This question describes the relation of the coordinators with the NGO and these questions tell how the NGO started and how they are working with their volunteers in the field work. Field Work Here we have done the field work as a drive was organised by our NGO in Greater Noida in Delhi NCRwhere we all volunteers were called to do the slipper distribution drive. Here we all have the task to do give the slippers to the poor people in that area and to make the poor people happy. When we have started the drive from Greater Noida, we all are excited to do that drive and by personally my group was more eager to do that the work in the NGO and how they use to do work in the society to help the poor peoples. We started going with our Vehicle and started to search where are the poor people are living in that place. When we found them, we collected all their family members started distributing the slippers among them. After the distribution to them the slippers they all blessed us and to our NGO too and they were telling that we should come again for the drive like this. As a personal experience of me the blessing which I had got it means for my life and my
  • 10. 10 friends too all were working there. We all have visited too parks, temples, traffic signals, metro stations and many more places too. While doing the slipper distribution we found many small children and we gave them the slippers and fruits too. When we are distributing the slippers, we met with old age ladies and uncles and they have asked many questions about our family and what we are doing currently in our life. And, we all volunteers asked them individually that how do they get their food, what their family do in all day and what type of work they do in their daily life and how they gather their daily food, they were also telling that some days they do not get food to eat and they have to sleep at night without eating food in a day. They were also telling that some days we get work and sometimes they don’t they have money for their food too. They were telling that their life has very much problems and they shared all their issues with us.

  • 22. 22 METHODOLOGY Scope – The scope of the project was to create awareness of the NGO and reach as much people as possible. It was essential to have global presence that is to have online presence, make field visits to villages where the ancient arts are still existing and create awareness of the arts and the artisans. It was also essential to reach out to corporates to involve them for CSR activities which can help NGOs fund their projects Methodology Research can be defined as “an activity that involves finding out, in a more or less systematic way, things you did not know”. “Methodology is the philosophical framework within which the research is conducted or the foundation upon which the research is based”. Research Methodology chapter of a research describes research methods, approaches and designs in detail highlighting those used throughout the study, justifying my choice through describing advantages and disadvantages of each approach and design taking into account their practical applicability to our research. The framework which is associated with a particular set of paradigmatic assumptions that we will use to conduct our research. When conducting a research methodology should meet the following two criteria:  The methodology should be the most appropriate to achieve objectives of the research.  It should be made possible to replicate the methodology used in other researches of the same nature. Types of Research Methodology: 1. Qualitative Researchrefers to research which focuses on collecting and analysing words (written or spoken) and textual data. Qualitative analysis can also focus on other “softer” data points, such as body language or visual elements. It’s quite common for a qualitative methodology to be used when the research aims and objectives are exploratory in nature. For example, a qualitative methodology might be used to understand peoples’ perceptions about an event that took place, or a candidate running for president. 2. Quantitative Researchfocuses on measurement and testing using numerical data. a quantitative methodology is typically used when the research aims and objectives are confirmatory in nature. For example, a quantitative methodology might be used to measure the relationship between two variables e.g., personality type and likelihood to commit a crime or to test a set of hypotheses.
  • 23. 23 3. Mixed-Method methodology attempts to combine the best of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to integrate perspectives and create a rich picture. Method of the study:  A research method is a systematic plan for conducting research.  Research methods are a variety of techniques that people use when studying a given phenomenon.  Research methods help us collect samples, data and find a solution to a problem.  The research method can either be qualitative or quantitative or mixed. Quantitative methods examine numerical data and often require the use of statistical tools to analyse the data collected.  This allows for the measurement of variables and relationships between them can then be established. This type of data can be represented using table, pie charts and bar graphs  Quantitative data is non-numerical and focuses on establishing patterns. Mixed methods are composed of both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Mixed methods allow for the explanation of unexpected results.  There are several methods of conducting research. The selection of the research method is determined by the nature of the problem. The variables involved in this study are lack of interest, negative attitude etc which cannot be studied in any artificial setting.  Hence, the investigator considered and selected the quasi-experimental method of research as the most appropriate method for conducting the present study.  The prefix quasi means "resembling." Thus, quasi experimental research is research that resembles experimental research but is not true experimental research.  However, like a true experiment, a quasi- experimental design aims to establish a cause-and effect relationship between an independent and dependent variable. Here the independent variable is manipulated before the dependent variable is measured  Quasi-experiments are most likely to be conducted in field settings in which random assignment is difficult or impossible. They are often conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment-perhaps a type of psychotherapy or an educational intervention.  Questionnaire is one of many forms of quasi-experimental design. Here data is collected by conducting pre-test and post-test using a question paper.  Questionnaire based on purposeful sampling allows for assessment of specific representatives of a population of interest, but not of the population as a whole
  • 24. 24 What are the main data collection methods?  Interviews (which can be unstructured, semi-structured or structured)  Focus groups and group interviews  Surveys (online or physical surveys)  Observations  Documents and records  Case studies Strategy used: NGO Awareness •Online Presence •Digital Marketing Approach existing donors for donations. •Cold Calling •E-newsletter Look for new leads by carrying out field visits . •Drafting Proposals •Meeting the CSR The methodology can be split into 3 steps: 1. Creating NGO Awareness – Building awareness for NGO was the primary goal. The various campaigns run by the NGO lacked online visibility. It was essential to boost the online presence of the NGO. Running Google AdWords for the same would help in creating the awareness. 2. Approach existing donors for donations – Reach out to existing donors, who are in touch with the NGO in the past and approach them for funding the exiting & upcoming projects of the organizations. 3. Look for new leads by carrying out field visits – Look for potential leads or corporates who would be willing to Mission
  • 25. 25 To make human equitable living environments where all vulnerable people have access to health, education, and livelihood options, irrespective of their economic and social status. To make their life easy and fulfil daily need. Approach SAARTHI pioneered the integrated community development program approach that seeks to turn slums into vibrant neighbourhoods. and provide shelter to animals. The various programs of SAARTHI are as follows:  CYBER SECURITY  WOMEN SAFETY  ANIMAL WELFARE  DISTRIBUTION DRIVE
  • 26. 26 PROBLEMS & CHALLENGES There were certain issues that were highlighted at the NGO  The organization lacked awareness.  There was a need to reach to corporates in person to present the projects undergone in SAARTHI and pitch in for long term tie ups.  While we are doing our drive of slipper distribution, we were distributing the slippers, but some of the persons were denying to take slippers.  And, some of them were demanding about their size and some of them were telling that they want a particular colour of slippers to wear.  Mostly peoples were having the slippers in a good condition but they still want a new one to wear.  Many peoples after seeing us distributing the slippers the people and their family members were coming to us with naked feet even, they have slippers. These were the big problems which was faced by us while doing the distribution drive.
  • 28. 28 Strength 1. Increased revenue, especially online donations. Social channels are increasingly being used as a part of overall plan. 2. Making some progress in integrating fundraising across channels. Doing some innovative campaigns. 3. Increasing focus on design, user experience, and content. 4. Strong connection with communities, global network, transparency, staff expertise and consistent funding efforts. Weakness 1. No Visibility of organisation – The website does not list on the first page of the Google search. The people looking for NGOs on Internet are not aware of the organization SAARTHI. It is essential to boost the visibility by listing the website on the first page. 2. Running Short of funds – The NGOs is looking out for funds to fund the existing and upcoming projects and needs to tie up with corporates for CSR activities. 3. Lack of awareness of the Pillars on which SAARTHI work. Opportunities 1. Website Exists - https://www.saarthi0105.org/ The website of the NGO was in place and there was an opportunity to highlight it to the right audience. The specific pages existed for different projects 2. Use of Google Ad Grant – Google AdWords is Google's advertising system which allows users to advertise and bid on certain keywords so that the clickable ads appear in Google’s search results. 3. Existing leads for corporates – There exists certain leads of corporates who can be approached over call to support the projects at SAARTHI. Threats 1. Limited resources to carry out the tasks – The NGO faces stiff challenges in carrying out multiple tasks due to lack of resources. The resources are handling multiple projects and have to entertain multiple requests catering to different sectors. 2. Corporates already involved with other NGOs – While following up leads for corporates, many of the corporates have already tie ups with other NGOs and some of those have their own non- profit institutions to which they channelize their CSR activities. The other companies are willing to fund specific projects such as funds related to children or women etc.
  • 29. 29 ANALYSIS OF FINDINGS Visibility - The NGO lacks visibility and thus the visibility on the Google search needs to be enhanced. The Google Ad Grant provided by Google would help to boost up the same. Until now the NGO has never used Google AdWords and thus the website was never listed on the first page of the Google search result. Google provides Google Ad Grants Account to NGOs with following services: • only run keyword-targeted campaigns • only run text ads • only run ads on Google search result pages and not on the Google Network • run ads for as long as your organization remains actively engaged with your AdWords account Field Visit – Regular field visit help them to finding needed children, women, homeless and shelter less animals. Support rural or slums to live or get proper life and help. Take benefits of schemes. Take the benefits of drive on daily basis. It is essential to visit these areas and slums to capture the real story and motives of them and then prepare a story to propagate on social media platforms for awareness.
  • 30. 30 Fund Raising with Corporates – The organization already had few leads of corporates which can be reached for CSR activities. it was essential to reach out to them with proper proposals so as to look up for long term relationship. There was potential in nearby areas but the corporates lacked awareness of the organization. Thus, reaching out to new corporates and spreading awareness also needs to be addressed. it was essential to capture the data regarding the corporate donations done by the corporates so a questionnaire was necessary to capture the data. The old questionnaire exists for the survey which needs to be redesigned so as to capture the data of the corporates which can be used for future follow ups. The existing data of the corporates needs to be analysed so as to approach the right corporate at the right time to fund the projects. Field Implementations Enhanced Visibility – The application for Google Grant was approved by Google and gave the opportunity to run Google AdWords for the organization for free. The Google AdWords campaign was run strategically to highlight various activities at SAARTHI. Various campaigns were designed for the organization and are listed below:  Fundraising event (mehfil-e-alfaaz) 26th December 2021
  • 31. 31  Breast cancer awareness campaign  Clothes distribution drive 2nd January 2022  Women safety field work 5th December at MJPRU, Bareilly
  • 32. 32  Annapurti event 28th November 2021
  • 33. 33 ANALYSIS OF DATA Data analysis is a process of inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggestions, conclusions and supporting decision-making. Here, we have made questionnaire and analysed the data: We have taken data of 20 peoples. Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 65% peoples want to do work, 10% do not want to do work and 25% may want or not want to do the work in NGO.
  • 34. 34 Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 65% peoples have the regular general knowledge about NGO but 35% peoples do not have regular general knowledge about NGO.
  • 35. 35 Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 90% peoples have the basic general knowledge about NGO but 10% peoples do not have basic general knowledge about NGO.
  • 36. 36 Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 75% peoples have basic skills for working in NGO but 25% do not have the basic skills.
  • 37. 37 Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 80% want the basic knowledge about the NGO and other world too but 20% do not want to learn the basic knowledge.
  • 38. 38 Interpretation Here, we have analysed that 65% has learned new things, 10% peoples do not new things from NGO and 25% are from both side.
  • 39. 39 Interpretations Here, we have analysed that 30% peoples want to spend whole day as a volunteer, 20% do not want and 50% are from both side.
  • 40. 40 CONCLUSION Working with the NGO was a delightful experience, the one month with the organization not only helped me to work for social cause but also helped me to gain exposure in fund raising and business development for the organization. Working for NGO was a challenge in itself, however planning the tasks made the journey pleasant and easy. Sticking to the roadmap was the strategy throughout. After working for 1 month. I came across various challenges and tried best approaches to overcome them. There were various best practices followed and would recommend to be followed by the organization throughout to have an edge over the others. The recommendation can be summarized as below: 1. First and foremost the website needs to be updated at the earliest. These days website is the new face of the organization over Internet. The current website is not attractive and has a lot of defects which needs to be rectified. The website can help to gather more traffic and if the appeal is sympathetic might lead to donations. 2. The Google AdWords campaign was run during this span of 1 month and received an overwhelming response. The campaigns for the CSR activities gathered the highest number of impressions and the clicks. 3.The campaign created awareness among the society The campaigns must be run throughout and there must be activity of distribution of clothes, slippers, water bottle, food packets, etc. we also help them by donating some funds.
  • 41. 41 RECOMMENDATIONS We as a group want to recommend some of the points to the NGO: -  The NGO should open their branches in many parts of the country.  NGO should generate funds from the government.  NGO should create Partnerships  NGOs should link other donors too for the funds.  They should update the template of their Budget.  They should always ask for their feedback.  They should also give better education to backward classes children and give them good education facility.  As, I have seen many of the NGOs are taking care of children of SEX WORKERS, KINNER like this all NGOs should start this in their NGOs to help them as they are neglected from the society.
