headlines are summaries of a couple of important news which will be followed by a bulletin.

News programme
A news programme is a regularly scheduled show containing recent events in the news and updates
on stories in the media.
We listened to radio 4 by Mather carey it’s a 1 hour ratio show
Copy only
A copy only is when the reader reads only the news so here is no one else speaking and no interviews.

With audio clips is when the reader reads something out and a original audio clip is played.

Voicers
Voicers are reports containing just the journalists voice nothing else.

Wraps are a little reports which the just journalists voice occurs at the beginning and end of a report .

2. Live cross
A live cross is when the reader during a live news report passes over to their partner who would then
be reports from a different location usually they are at the scene of an event or to continue the story.

Two way (live and ‘as – live’)
A two way (live and ‘as – live’) is an interview which is made by a producer in a studio with another
reporter in the field, these can also be linked by a ‘live cross’ the only difference is the that both
presenter and the voicer are live to their audience so they can react to each other’s questions and assess
the situation of an event.

Analysing styles of radio news
Related to audience – this is the news which related to a specific target audience, such as gaydio
which only has news which is to do with the lgbt community.
Public service – BBC radio 1, which has all current news for 15 – 21 year olds
Commercial radio – businesses news, selling things such as the iPhone 6, Facebook, news stories to
do with places like the Trafford centre.
Community radio – never played on national or commercial, Salford city radio, local news and crime,
things that effect small community and overall news which they get from sky news.
Small – scale – small scale radio will only be broadcast over a small area such as our college radio
e6 on this news would be about College such as upcoming events in college and peoples birthdays.
Local – small area news stories.
Regional – public service for the northwest on BBC3, XFM and Key 103 .
National – national is BBC1,3 and 5.
