This program aims to promote health and nutrition for infants to preschool-aged children in the Philippines. It was established due to high rates of malnutrition among young children. A health promotion wagon will travel to identified communities, educating parents on ensuring children's well-being and developing healthy habits through lectures, games, and demonstrations. It will also provide feeding programs. The expected outcomes are educated parents who apply nutrition guidance and empowered children with improved comprehension of health. The success will be measured by decreased malnutrition rates, parental application of lessons, and overall enhanced wellness in the target barangay.
4. PROJECT
BACKGROUND
This program was established
because of the alarming number
of children from 0 to 5 years that
are malnourished and have
micronutrient deficiency in the
Philippines.
5. PROJECT
BACKGROUND
According to The Hunger
Project, a child dies every 10
seconds. 1 in 3 Filipino children
below 5 years of age is
malnourished due to extreme
poverty and lack of basic health
education in parents.
6. Finding health issues at an early
stage, when they are typically easier
to treat.
Enhance the well-being and health
of children within the age group of
infants to preschool.
OBJECTIVES
7. Make parents value their children's
health and educate them on how to
influence their children in order to
help them develop healthy eating
habits that will enable them to
grow with a healthy body and
mind.
OBJECTIVES
8. EXPECTED
OUTCOMES
Parents are well educated in ensuring the overall
health of their children and effectively applies health
education along with gentle parenting especially in
terms of diet and immunity.
Infant and preschool children will be able to
comprehend what's simply right and wrong in their
daily practices such as playing and what shouldn't
be or should be eaten, specifically for preschool
children.
10. The group would first look into a barangay
where the children are in urgent need of
assistance. After identifying the barangay, the
group will coordinate with the local government
unit and health center to assess the current
health situation of infants and preschoolers.
METHODOLOGY
11. Following that, the group would travel
there and use methodologies like
lectures, role-playing, games, video
presentations, and demonstrations to
make sure that the subjects and content
could be understood by both the parents
and, most importantly, the kids.
METHODOLOGY
12. There will also be a feeding program after these
methodologies. After the said event, the group
would then evaluate the effectiveness of the
health education program by gathering
feedback from parents and observing changes
in the children's behavior towards food, hygiene,
and other health practices.
METHODOLOGY
13. Decrease in malnutrition as indicated by
statistics.
Parents following and applying the practices
that have been taught to them.
Children receiving necessary healthcare
services and developmental tests.
Overall improvement of the nutrition and well-
being of the children in our chosen barangay.
