DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
As a designer, I value the quality and the aesthetics of the overall
design by combining the old and new to make the space more
distinctive. My mission is to design a space that is functional and
comfortable while incorporating sustainable and universal design that
reflect the client's personality and lifestyle.
Inspired by world architecture and culture. I focus on exploring
expressions of simplicity through the use of materials, space and
proportion. I tell a story in my design through the use of movement
and spatial composition.

3. PURELUX NAIL SALON
Two best friends decided to open a nail salon in the Pearl District.
Due to the high toxicity levels of nail salon products, there is a need
for a sustainable nail salon for the health and safety of the customers
and employees. With a combination of colors and mixture of
Chinese and Malay cultures, this inspired the design and mood of this
luxurious and healthful retreat.

6. THE PERATA FAMILY
KITCHEN AND POWDER ROOM REMODEL
Regina and Gina are passionate about cooking and love to
experiment with new recipes and foods. They want to remodel
their kitchen and powder room to be more functional and reflect
their personalities. A traditional Greek Mediterranean style with a
modern twist was used to create a cozy, relaxing atmosphere that is
functional and luxurious.

10. THE STUPPARD FAMILY HOME REMODEL
The Stuppard family grew up in Haiti and their personalities exude
the French Creole, Caribbean spirit of their country. Rudy loves to
cook and entertain whereas Marie teaches fine art at PNCA and
would like a gallery/ studio in her home. They have two daughters
– Aurora and Martine. Marie’s sister Flore lives with them and serves
as an au pair while attending PSU. Modern yet cozy qualities were
used throughout the entire space, with the splash of Caribbean color
scheme to create a fun yet relaxing atmosphere in this house.

13. PEDIATRIC CLINIC (Team: Hannah Reynders and Fatou Bah)
A husband and wife team have have had their practice for 12 years
in the heart of Portland. They serve patients from birth to adolescents;
Their practice has grown and they would like to move into a bigger
space on the third floor of a six floor medial building. A space for
wellness, healing and growth will need to be comfortable and safe
for all users. The design is inspired by the beauty of nature and the
transformation of the butterfly; giving a sense of a comfortable and
nurturing environment for the staff, patients and family/ visitors.

16. REI SHOE DEPARTMENT
REI is a outdoor retail store where the consumers consists of active
men and women who love nature. Inspired by the muted colors
of autumn, this shopping environment is calming and energizing.
A cooler color palette with a pop of natural earth tones inspired
by autumn leaves gives a sense of warmth and balance while the
texture of the rustic logs stimulate. The overall mood is harmonious
and emphasizes the merchandise.

doors. The TV and lights will help create a focal point
to attract consumers.
B. The unique display with storage by the column will
be lit up with adjustable recessed light that highlight
the shoes and draw consumers up to the department.

19. MOMO BEAUTY SCHOOL/SALON - MALAYSIA
(Team: Anthony Tay, Doreen Chong and Fiza Hamid)
A team of two sisters decided to open a beauty school/ salon
in the heart of Desa Tebrau. They wanted a space to educate
and provide nail and make up services to all users. A modern
retro style was used throughout the salon and school; to make
it inviting and comfortable.
