Fire resistant jackets are made up of fireproof fabrics which are made up mostly of a fabric called Nomex, a registered trademark of DuPont. It is a chemical version of nylon similar to Kevlar which is used to protect body from the fire.
This is special type of product which is used only in specific field of chemical industries, atomic plants, missile and weapon industries, fire brigades etc

3. Introduction
Term “Flame Resistant” refers to the
ability of a material to bear flames and
fire.
Fire resistance means the ability of
building components and systems to
perform their intended fire separating
and/or load bearing functions
under fire exposure.
4. Flame Retardants
Flame retardants are compounds added to
manufactured materials, such as plastics and
textiles, and surface finishes and coatings
that inhibit, suppress, or delay the production
of flames to prevent the spread of fire.
They may be mixed with the base material
(additive flame retardants) or chemically
bonded to it (reactive flame retardants).
Mineral flame retardants are typically additive
while organohalogen and organophosphorus
compounds can be either reactive or additive.
5. Manufacturing
These Fibres Can Be Used
Aramid Fibres

7. Applications
People who work in hazardous
environments that may involve the
following hazards: Electric Arc
(electricians, electric utility lineman, etc.)
Flash Fire (refinery, chemical and
pharmaceutical workers, etc.)
Combustible Dust Explosion (workers in
the paper and pulp industry, food
processing, paint, and many more
industries).
Plus any worker who come in contact
with energized electrical equipment.
8. Applications
Flame resistant jackets are used in
Marines
Rescue institutions
Fire brigade
Medical
Fibre Optics
Outdoor goods
Chemical Industries
Indura Ultra Soft
Nomex insulated uniforms
9. Applications
Flame Resistant Jackets and Coats
create a strong outer layer that keeps
you and your clothes protected against
heat and flame.
They're made with the same soft fabric
and tough construction as all those other
jackets that might come your way. You
might not even notice that a flame-
resistant jacket is special. . .until you're
in danger. Made to resist burning and
melting, the fabric will keep you safe
from stray sparks, flame hazards and
intense heat.
10. Applications
Flame resistant jacket is also essential
wear for welders and industrial
workers who deal with heat / flame
and other metal workers where hot
sparks are an issue, for example when
using angle grinders.
