3. What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud computing is a complete new technology. It is the development of parallel
computing, distributed computing grid computing, and is the combination and evolution
ofVirtualization,
5. Comparison Between Cloud Computing & Grid Computing
Cloud computing and Grid computing are the two words that end up confusing many people as they are
similar in theory. Cloud computing and Grid computing involves massive computer network infrastructure.
6. What is Grid Computing?
■ Grid systems are designed for collaborative sharing of resources. It can also be thought
of as distributed and large-scale cluster computing. A Grid is basically the one that uses
the processing capabilities of different computing units for processing a single task. The
task is broken into multiple sub-tasks, each machine on a grid is assigned a task. As
when the sub-tasks are completed they are sent back to the primary machine which
takes care of the all the tasks. They are combined or clubbed together as an output.
7. What’s the difference between cloud & grid
computing?
■ Server computers are still needed to distribute the pieces of data and collect the
results from participating clients on grid.
■ Cloud offers more services than grid computing. In fact almost all the services on the
Internet can be obtained from cloud, e.g. web hosting, multiple Operating systems,
DB support and much more.
■ Grids tends to be more loosely coupled, heterogeneous, and geographically dispersed
compared to conventional cluster computing systems.
11. Application Of Cloud Computing
■ Private Cloud & Hybrid Cloud
■ Test & Development
■ Big Data Analytics
■ File Storage & Sharing
■ Disaster Recovery
■ Backup
■ PAAS forWeb Applications.
■ IoT with cloud computing
12. Issues In Cloud Computing
More and more information on individuals and companies is placed in the cloud; concerns
are beginning to grow about just how safe an environment it is?
Issues of cloud computing can summarize as follows:
■ Privacy
■ Reliability
■ Compliances
■ Freedom
■ LongTimeViability
13. Pros of Cloud Computing
■ No cost on infrastructure.
■ Minimum management and cost.
■ Forget about administrative or management hassles.
■ Accessibility and pay per use.
■ Reliability.
14. Cons of Cloud Computing
■ Requires good speed internet with good bandwidth.
■ Limited control on infrastructure.
■ Restricted or limited flexibility.
■ Ongoing costs.
■ Security.
