Planning Images
The genre of my music is R&B. I am going to be using a close medium shot on
my front cover of my magazine and have the model looking straight into the
camera. For my double page spread I want to have 4 different pictures of the
same model but in different poses in long shot. For this I want my model to be
wearing dark colours, hoody and jeans. Adding on, for my content page I would
a similar picture to my front cover so that I can remind my audience what the
magazine is about, and who was on the front cover.
The magazine’s audience will be both male, female in the teens or young
adults. I believe that young students who are into R&B will be interested in this
magazine because of the model I will have on the front page, representing
teenagers.
My magazine will also be representing age because most people who are into
R&B are young adults, as it is a catchy genre and I find that most teenagers and
young adults are into this genre. The way in which I will be representing them
through mise-en-scene, is making my model look into the camera so that my
audience feel like that the model is looking at them. The angle of the camera
will be directly at the model. I would like my models to be wearing dark
clothes, with a serious face. I have got this idea from VIBE magazine, as the
dark clothing and bright cover lines makes it stand out and all the colours
match with the clothing that he is wearing. I will most likely have a male
student to be modelling for me, wearing a hat so I may not need to worry
about his hair or makeup.
The camera shot I will be using for mainly my front cover will be medium close
up shot. Also for my double page spread I will be using long shots of the same
model, and for my content page the same model with a similar pose. I would
not want to use the same pictures over again because I do not want my
audience to get bored of the magazine if I was to have the same pose.
