BUFFALO BOOGIE BRINGS IN BIG BUCKS
23rd Annual Fun Walk/Run Raises Funds for Urban Refuge
FORT WORTH (Feb. 23, 2015) - Live music, free breakfast and a
traffic-free USATF-certified course are just a few of the perks
that make the annual Buffalo Boogie on May 9 a kid and pet-
friendly event. Organizers and participants of the 1M and 5K fun
run also share one mission: to raise funds for The Fort Worth
Nature Center & Refuge.
Held on paved roads at the FWNC&R, located at 9601 Fossil Ridge
Road, the course is closed to vehicles while runners and walkers
are on the course.
Registration is $15 per person for groups of five or more
runners, and $20 for individuals before May 3. May 3-8,
registration is $25 per person, and after May 8, rates go up $5
per-person. The entry fee for dogs is $5 at any time.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. May 9, and the run begins at 8:30
2. a.m. Registration is available online, by mail, or in person.
There is no gate entry fee on race-day for registered runners.

Buffalo Boogie
“There is something for the whole family,” said Laura, executive
director of Friends of the Nature Center. “The event takes place
on Mother’s Day weekend, all the activities take place in a
natural wooded park with no traffic on the closed course, so it’s
a great way to get outside and celebrate mom.”
Baby strollers and leashed dogs are welcomed in the race.
Activities include free breakfast for registered participants,
educational exhibits, arts and crafts, face painting and free
goodie bags. Registered dogs receive a free bandana and all
runners receive a complimentary Buffalo Boogie t-shirt, while
supplies last.
Buffalo Boogie is one of many fundraisers held by Friends of the
Nature Center to support the 3,600 acre municipally-owned park,
said executive director of Friends of the Nature Center Laura
Veloz.
