LANDFORMS AND WATER
JESSICA SCOHY
ANALYZE LEARNER:
 4th and 5th grade students in a special education resource room (LD/BD)
 3 girls, 12 boys
 9 white, 6 black
 All students enjoy hands-on activities, so we will focus on these kinds of activities
Main Objectives:
• Students will know the landforms and bodies of water and will be able to identify what
regions specific landforms and bodies of water can be found after participating in
class discussions, interactive lessons on the SMARTboard, watching videos, and
completing worksheets. After 5 days of class work and homework, students will be able
to identify and answer questions with 90% accuracy. (If students do not pass with 90%
accuracy they will be able to re-try until they truly know the information.)
 Day 1:
Overview of what a landform is and focus on what land forms can be found around us
(mountains, rivers, lakes, and hills). Working with interactive SMARTboard program and cross word
puzzle
 Day 2:
The second day includes discussion on valleys, caves, and volcanos. Working with interactive
SMARTboard program and using knowledge of combined landforms discussed on Day 1 & 2 to
complete worksheet
 Day 3:
The third day will focus on plains, deserts, and canyons. Working with interactive SMARTboard
program and using combined landform knowledge from previous days to complete riddle
worksheet.
 Day 4:
Day four will include a discussion on waterfalls, islands, and oceans. Working with interactive
SMARTboard program and using knowledge from every day to complete matching worksheet.
 Day 5:
The fifth and final day will be a review of all of the landforms and water bodies discussed. The
students will be asked questions concerning the thing they have learned through out the week to

 ELMO used by teacher to review worksheets and other hand outs with students
