Today’s leadership. Elected leadership, Charles, Vicki, Ron, Jim, Dick, Gary and Steve, Dale Stinton is NAR’s CEO and manages all day to day operations. Reporting to Dale are Senior Vice Presidents responsible for the areas of Association including Research, Government Affairs, Legal, Marketing, Public Affairs, IT, Business Specialties and HR.
Another important benefit for members and a source of information for consumers is REALTOR®.com. This is the most comprehensive source of listings available and it is the Number 1 site that consumers go to when looking for a home to purchase. There are a number of enhancement that will be rolled out over the next few months. These enhancements will draw more and more consumers to the web site by providing greater interactivity through mapping and tools that will allow consumers to search in a greater number of ways.
Professionalism is so important that it is discussed in one of the strategic objectives in the Strategic Plan. The starting point is the Annual convention. There are re many education sessions, forums, workshops and meetings. The Annual convention will be in San Diego November 13-16. Go to REALTOR®.org and click on “Meetings & Expo” for mor information. (CLICK TO START SHOWING DESIGNATIONS – EACH ENTER ONE AT A TIME) While professionalism means many things, education is one component that attests to REALTORS® experience and competence. There are several designations that can be earned through the affiliated societies, institutes and counsels. The most frequently earned designation is the GRI, but there are many other designations for both residential and commercial specialists.
Of course, it is important that Congress and regulators hear from the 1.2 million REALTORS®. To become involved, go to the NAR Action Center to register and respond to calls for action on important Federal issues that will affect your business and livelihood. To get even more involved, consider becoming a volunteer member of one of NARs standing Committees or Forum. There is a recommendation process and it also helps if you fill out your Expertise Profile through NRDS.
Finally, all of the information about research, policy, regulatory matters, news about the markets… is available on REALTOR®.org. Spend some time finding out more about NAR and the REALTOR® organization
