Stock Control Administrator - October 2012 - December 2012
The role reported directly to the Stock Control Manager and was supported by Stock
Control/Goods- In Supervisors. Required to demonstrate ability to multi-task in a fast paced
environment, have an eye for detail coupled with exceptional organisational skills and able to
meet strict deadline. To create and maintain a fluid filing system for all paperwork that required
retaining. Update all paperwork on Stock Control Management System. To carry out spot check
procedure on stock and keep records on results, reporting and investigating any inaccuracies. To
continually offer suggestions and ideas on new procedures to ensure that stock is accurate.
My shift pattern was 12-8pm Monday to Friday and due to a change in personal circumstances I
chose to leave the position at the end of my probationary period.

Temporary Receptionist/Office Administrator - June 2010 - July 2010
As the first point of contact at a large comprehensive school I was responsible for greeting all
incoming visitors, including pupils returning after exclusion, parents, Governors etc. Accessing
& updating records through the school SIMS computerised system. Ensuring all visitors signed
the visitor book on arrival and departure, receiving incoming mail and parcel deliveries.
Effectively answering all incoming calls, directing where appropriate or taking accurate
messages and ensuring they got to the necessary recipient. Making calls to parents in the event a
child was taken ill to request they be collected. Making calls to emergency services i.e. Police,
Ambulance etc. Ensuring post was franked and bagged up at the end of each day. Ad-hoc
administration duties when required.
This was a temporary assignment for six weeks, however had I continued to live in Cardiff; I
would have been invited to return in the new term in September.
Taylor Tiles Holdings Limited South & West Wales
Group Operations Manager - September 2005 - November 2009
Through a mutual contact I was invited to a meeting with the above company and succeeded in
securing the newly created position of Group Operations Manager. The role involved all aspects
of the operation of the business, managing & motivating a team of 10 staff, stock sudits,
authorising stock purchases, liaising with UK and International suppliers, logistics, completion
of weekly staff time-sheets, authorising holiday requests, training new staff in company
operational procedures, carrying out staff appraisals and attending disciplinary hearings. I
initially implemented a set of written working procedures, to ensure that all branches across the
group were operating the same set of good practices. I was tasked to look at cost reduction
across the company, this involved challenging existing contracts with suppliers to successfully
establish cost savings. Sited within the warehouse was a Trade Counter where I gave added
support to the staff, serving & advising customers. Unfortunately due to the economic climate
this company went into Administrative Receivership and I was made redundant.

My husband is a Qualified Carpenter - We decided to set up our own Business. Creating the
business name and a set of good working practices. Opening bank accounts, visiting the Inland
Revenue to attend courses on running a small business. Managing and maintaining business
records in line with HMRC requirements. Maintain VAT records. Work on site assisting with
installations. Book appointments with clients, complete client records and deal with any client
queries.
South Wales Electricity Plc Cardiff
Clerical Assistant - June 1993 - June 2000
Initially employed as a temporary Clerical Assistant - within the Commercial Division,
specifically the Marketing Department. This post was not anticipated to go beyond April 1994.
However in July 1994 I applied for the newly created position of Supply Contracts
Administrator & was successful. This involved managing & motivating a team in a busy Sales &
Marketing office. Setting up and managing an electronic filing system by means of a Lektriever.
Meeting tight deadlines. Ensuring during busy renewal contract rounds, contracts were sent to
customers for verification and signature and successfully filed once returned. Support staff with
office administration as required. Being part of marketing campaigns including setting up
exhibition stands at the NEC and The Royal Welsh Showground. Assist with Corporate
hospitality events.

Sales Co-ordinator - Feb1985 - Nov 1990
Maximising sales in a busy hire & sale office, involved in the supply of scaffolding equipment.
Organise deliveries. Arrange collection of goods coming back off hire. Complete all relevant
paperwork. Promoted to Office Administrator,responsible for managing junior staff. All aspects
of office administration, opening & distributing mail, recording expenditure of petty cash, debt
management, typing quotations, booking stock in & out, stock taking. The manual office
systems were transferred to computerisation, I was given the responsibility for training &
implementation throughout South Wales. I left this job to have a family.
