EXPERIENCE
City Year, San Antonio, TX August 2014 – Present
Corps Member at Luther Burbank High School
• Completing 17,000 hours of service as a tutor, mentor and coach to unlock student’s potential and encourage graduation
and college readiness in a low-income school.
• One of four people selected to serve on a committee planning logistics and programming for the corps’ Martin Luther
King service day. Approximately 100 corps members worked in partnership with the Youth Leadership Summit.
• Evaluations Coordinator for my team of 15 corps members. Responsible for facilitating data entry, training team members
on data software, and attending webinars on data use.
• Partner with an Algebra I teacher to provide Tier 1 Support for five classes for 20-30 students four or five days a week.
• Provide approximately one hour per week of targeted Tier II intervention in math and behavior for fifteen students.
• Selected to serve on the “PT crew” as the representative from my school. Lead a corps of approximately 120 people in
physical training exercises at Unity Rally once a month and introduce new moves to the corps.
• Facilitated the creation of team “We Serve” mission statement, which was read at our City Year Opening Day Ceremony.
• Represented City Year to a table of seven community members at the annual Power of Women Luncheon.
• Selected as one of 14 corps members to work as a Girls Inc spring break STEAM camp. Facilitated programming for,
guided and supervised 17-21 4th
and 5th
graders.
• Selected to lead corps members call and response and call to service at the annual Ripples of Hope Gala.
• Five weeks of training and regular bi-monthly supplementary instruction in leadership development, child development,
tutoring, diversity, the history of national service, and the landscape of educational policy.

Personality and Self Knowledge Lab, Principle Investigator: Dr. Simine Vazire, 	
  
Study Manager (June 2012 – February 2014)
• Partnered with graduate students and Dr. Vazire to design a two-year longitudinal study for 400 participants analyzing
how personality perception influences intimate relationships. Created scripts, email templates and protocols to recruit
participants and then implemented this project.
• Facilitated training for 10-20 new and returning research assistants for five semesters.
• Managed research assistants’ interactions with participants and resolved day-to-day problems during four semesters.
• Partnered with the graduate students to organize schedules for 15-20 research assistants for 3 different semesters.
• Contributed to regular meetings where study implementation was discussed and plans for new stages were made.
• Presented posters at two major conferences in personality psychology. (Society for Personality and Social Psychology –
2013 & Association for Research in Personality – 2013)
• Committed to 7.5 hours/week as a research assistant. Worked up to 30 hours/week as study manager while in school.
Research Assistant (May 2011- February 2014)
• Managed two experiment sessions each week, with up to 3 participants per session, during 2 semesters.
• Piloted coding schemes used to analyze data from the EAR (Electronically Activated Recorder).
• Analyzed 30 sets of EAR data containing an average of 300 thirty-second audio files each.
• Reviewed data for accuracy, supervised 5 other students in data checking projects, and organized data.
• Analyzed and discussed articles relevant to personality and self-knowledge each week.
• Worked over 1200 hours during my three years as a research assistant.

• American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, (Initial certification: December 2007; Most recent: June 2014)
• Facilitated use of the pool by several hundred patrons each day.
• Worked as part of a team to assist other lifeguards with rescues, contact EMS and support staff during emergencies.
• Cared for patrons with minor injuries and assisted struggling patrons in the pool to prevent emergencies.
