The college and career readiness benchmarks for the SAT predict a 75 percent likelihood of achieving at least a C in a set of first-year credit-bearing college courses.
It’s easy for students to sign in and see their scores online but, if they ask for your help, here’s what they have to do.
Now we will move to the demo of the student portal, which is public and fully available for you to use at your convenience. We encourage you to explore the demo on your own time.
When your student first signs in, they will see their PSAT/NMSQT® total and section scores.
A student’s nationally representative sample percentile will generally be higher than their user percentile because it will not be comparing the student to all students, just those who are college bound.
AP Potential™ is a research-driven, free web-based tool that will help you identify AP® students and choose the AP courses that interest them. AP Potential is rooted in a long line of research showing that PSAT/NMSQT® scores, and by extension SAT® scores, predict performance on specific AP Exams—often with more accuracy than other traditionally used methods.
This powerful resource will enable you to:
Support access to AP for all academically prepared students
Develop a robust AP program by identifying whether your school should expand its course offerings and/or increase the number of sections of AP
courses already offered
Reduce time to recruit new AP students
Meet college and career readiness accountability measures
Go to appotential.collegeboard.org and sign in to your College Board account. You can sign up for an account on that page if you do not have one.
What you’ll get with AP Potential:
Students can use their PSAT/NMSQT scores to get free, personalized practice recommendations, based on their test results, that will help them succeed:
On the SAT
In their high school courses
In college
In their future careers
To receive these personalized recommendations, students must create a Khan Academy® online account and link it to their College Board account. For more information about linking accounts, visit satpractice.org.
More than 1.7 million students have signed up to use Khan Academy to practice for the SAT.
Students can also download the free Daily Practice for the New SAT app, which gives them a different sample question daily, answer explanations, and hints on questions they’re having trouble with. It also lets them take a picture of their practice test answer sheets and get scores instantly!
The app is available free for both Apple and Android devices.
