Description and objectives
 Spanish I is a beginning course.You will learn basic
vocabulary and the uses of three tenses and some
expression.You will read, speak and understand the
language at beginning level.
 Spanish II is an intermediate course.You will learn five to
eight tenses and more expressions.
 Spanish III is an advance course.You will review tenses and
expressions .The course will focus in develop your
speaking , reading and writing skills.

 Spanish Exploratory is a course design to 6th through 8th
graders.You will learn seventeen and more vocabularies.
This course approach some tenses and expressions.
 This course will useVoces e-textbooks and En español
1a,1b.
 The course will focus in recognition and understanding of
the language at elementary level.

 Objectives : Spanish Club at MSA
East seeks to provide students with
an abundance of opportunities to be
immersed in the Spanish language
and in the Hispanic culture.We
support the MSA East Spanish
Department by attending their
events as well as providing
opportunities for cultural credit for
Spanish students.There will be
activities consist of: meetings,
regular social gatherings , field trips
and volunteer opportunities or with
community organizations that focus
on the Hispanic community .
 Dues: $20.00 that includeT-shirt

England , France , Spain trip
 Requirements:
 Be enroll in Spanish Class or
 Hold Spanish club membership
 Be in outstand students with
out any disciplinary issues.

Classroom rules
 Be in your assigned seat when
the bell rings.
 Listen and follow the
instructions the first time they
are given.
 No personal grooming during
class.
 Chewing gum is prohibited
 No food and drinks in
classroom
 If rules are not followed:
 Parents will be contacted
 Lunch detention
 5 points will be deducted from
the grade.
 After second time referral will
be given.
Classroom rules
Classroom routine
 Beginning of the period: Be in your assigned seat before
the bell rings, open your notebook, book and review
vocabulary . Any other day review your notes and be ready
for bonus questions.
 During lectures: listen to the teacher, take notes. If you
have any questions referring to the topic, raise your hand;
this indicates “I have a question.” Any other question must
wait until lecture is finished.
 To obtain teacher's attention, one must use sign language:
 By raising a full open hand your intentions are signed as, “I
wish to answer the question” “I have a question “or “ I wish
to speak.” Please do not say the answer unless you are called
upon.
 Nobody is allowed to move from your assigned seat with
out my permission.
Turning in Papers
 Students should pass papers, work books, bingo cards,
from front to back.The first person in the lane is
responsible for the collection of papers, work books, etc.
Leaving the classroom
 No one is allow to leave the classroom without my
permission.
 Students will not be allow to return to lockers for
forgotten material.
 Restroom Pass or hall pass:You must say it in Spanish:
“Puedo ir al bano ,por favor” “Puedo ir a tomar agua ,por
favor”.
 End of the period:The teacher will dismiss the class, not
the bell.
When you are absent
 Look at your syllabus (see teacher website)
 For any extra worksheets, you must come early in the day
or after school.
 Look in the class packet book for any worksheets .
 Please do not ask me for anything after I have started the
class lecture.

I am native from Peru and I have
been teaching for twenty eight
years. I hold a Bachelor ‘s degree in
Art from Lima, Peru; B.G.S
Humanities from Louisiana College,
an Alternative Certification for
Education-Spanish from Louisiana
College, Master’s Degree in Spanish
from Saint Louis University in
Missouri-Madrid Campus.
Personal life
I have been married to Randall
O’Neal for 33 years. I have three
daughters. Sandra, Carolyn and
Linda.
My daughters
My oldest daughter is a nurse .
My middle daughter is a lawyer.
My youngest daughter is a senior
at Louisiana State University.
My Goal
 I believe that language is
the key to understand
different cultures and that
through communication we
can bring peace to the
world.
 Lastly, I would like to
assure you that your goal
will be acquired with
practice and perseverance.
 We will walk together as a
team, and as instructor and
partner.
Sara O’Neal Educational Philosophy
I believe that children are the future of
the society and that they play a very
important part in the development of a
new humanity in the world.
Every child has a potential and have
something special and unique that make
them different individuals.
I believe that every child have the ability
of learn.
To accomplish these believes, I will focus
my teaching in tree elements:
knowledge acquisitions, development of
their individuality and cultivate in them
the respect for things, people and all the
culture.
