8. Selecting an Object
• The Pick tool helps us select an Object
Steps:
1. Click Pick tool in the Toolbox to make it the
Currently selected tool
2. Position the mouse pointer on rectangle 1
and click the left mouse button.
3. Rectangle 1 gets selected, can make
changes (Moving, Resizing, Deleting)
9. Resizing an Object
• Once an object is selected, it can be resized.
Steps:
1. Place the mouse pointer on the center
handle of the right edge of the rectangle to
be resized, mouse pointer changed into
twin-headed arrow
10. 2. Press the left mouse button and keeping it
pressed, drag the mouse pointer leftwards to
reduce the width of the rectangle
3. Release the mouse-button, The width of the
rectangle is reduced
4. Now place the mouse pointer on the center
handle of the top edge of the rectangle 1.
5. Drag the mouse pointer downwards to reduce
the height of the rectangle 1. Now Rectangle 1
is resized.

12. Moving an Object
• Moving Rectangle 1 rightwards – Steps:
1. Place the Mouse pointer over the center of
the selected rectangle 1
2. Keeping the left mouse button pressed,
drag the mouse pointer rightwards

14. Changing the Shape of an Object
• CorelDRAW provides shape tool for changing
the shape of the object.
STEPS:
1. Click the Shape tool
2. Click on the object to be reshaped, that object
is covered with dotted lines
3. Place the mouse pointer on the right handle
at the bottom edge
4. Press the left mouse button and keeping it
pressed, drag the mouse pointer towards the
left

• Combine two objects which can then be used
as a single object
STEPS:
1. Click on the pick tool
2. Press Shift key from the keyboard select
rectangle 2
3. Click on the Combine button in the Property
bar
4. Similarly Combine rectangle 3 & 4.

18. Skewing an Object
• Skewing means reshaping an object from one of its
sides.
• When skew an object, two of its corners move, two
corners on the opposite side remain static
STEPS:
1. Click on any one of the rectangle 3 or 4
2. Again click on the selected rectangles 3 or
4,surrounded by rotation and skew handles
3. Move the mouse pointer onto the right skew
handle
4. Keeping the left mouse button pressed, drag the
mouse pointer upwards to skew rectangle 3 or 4.

steps

• Fill tool is used to fill an object with a color,
pattern or a texture
• Done through Fountain Fill Tool, fill an
object with a combination of two colors
