In the lap of Shali peak is the small village of Deola, comprising of 30 houses built in traditional
‘pahari’ style, with thatched walls and slate roofs. The hardship of life is exposed by the valleys
designed with traditional step farms on the slopes and local farmer practice indigenous farming
since centuries. This elevation is ideal to grow varieties of cereals, pulses, fruits, vegetables and
spices. The natural bouncy houses wide varieties of typical Himalayan flora and fauna.
Shali Heights is a home in the mountains, best to experience Himalayan cultural warmth and
lifestyle. Nature trails, trek up-to Shali peak, mountain biking and river rafting trips suits
adventure enthusiasts. The mesmerizing aura inspires writers, painters and thinkers giving

2. Best time to visit
With just not one reason to visit the village of Deola, the topography of the area allows snow to
spread its blanket from late January till March.
This follows April with the bounty of spring petals, adding new colors to life. The pleasant
summer evening of May and June rewards the farmer for his hardship.
July and August brings monsoon showers welcoming migratory birds and a symposium of
Himalayan flora.
September, October, November and December echo the silent valleys with their fairs and
festivals, celebrating life.
Accommodation
Shali Heights, home offers two bed rooms and a reading room, with a view of adjacent villages
and crowned by Shali Peak. Adjacent to rooms is a common, furnished bathroom with private
entrance. With an ample space, in front of the rooms, give a true sense of being close to nature.

Deola village
Enjoy an exploratory walk and meander through the temples, traditionally built houses,
pine forest and enjoy the fresh air.
Shali peak hike
Hike up to the highest peak in the vicinity of Shimla and get rewarded with stunning
panoramic views of snowcapped Western Himalayan range. This ancient trail connecting
the valleys of Mandi and Kullu, passes through old coniferous forest. Carpeted with rare
Himalayan flora, the place aspire nature lovers, avid birdwatchers and photographers.
Hatu peak drive
A day’s drive to Hatu peak passes through apple valleys and retraces the Old Hindustan
Tibet road. Enjoy a lovely walk through an old Brown Oak forest; get blessed by the
local Goddess temple on the top and mesmerizing panoramic views.
River rafting
Enjoy a lovely drive to River Sutlej and enjoy a thrilling ride over the powerful tides of
