PERSONAL SUMMARY
Mrs. Sangeeta Harjani graduated in social work from Nirmala Niketan in 1974. She completed
her degree in the initial stages of social work academically framed with a professional
approach. But acceptance from society at large was still awaited. For society it was a
voluntary service to keep oneself busy, without any monetary gains. Her working period as a
professional social worker was therefore a challenge. She, followed by many others
thereafter, with their passion, commitment, dedication and perseverance have contributed in
changing its professional growth. Today, it stands as one of the most respected professions in
the mainstream.
Her working span of 22 years began with working in a small organization for 3-4 hours to at
present HOD of PASI department of YWCA, Mumbai.
CAREER HISTORY
(January 1974 – Present)

 As a catalytic agent forwarding the quarterly periodic academic and personal growth
progress report monitored through casework, group work and family counseling of the
sponsored children to their respective sponsor
 Handling individual accounts of sponsored children and maintenance of necessary
administrative records
 Organising camps for sponsored children
Fair Trade Practices Association
 Vigilance of fair distribution system by shopkeepers as members of the association
 Networking with co-related agencies in distribution system
 Mediator of problems faced by shopkeepers in implementation level and common public in
availing facilities to the responsible stakeholders.

 Providing loan to marginalized individuals for economic empowerment
 Monitoring their income earned thereby for further constructive growth.
