Jet Airways (India) Limited: Sr. Vice President (HR) 2010 till date
Sr. Vice President - HR for the global network of the airline. Role involves HR leadership
to 52 stations in the domestic sectors and 26 internationally, with a workforce of 15050
permanent headcount and 7000 outsourced manpower on a world-wide basis.
Supported by a team of HR Business Vertical Heads, Regional HR Heads, Country HR
and HRBP, the Company has achieved around 3.5 billion USD in 2015. Key
achievements include
• Facilitated the transformation into a performance based culture resulting in a
turnaround after a prolonged period of economic downturn.
• Part of due diligence and thereafter undertook organizational re-design following
the strategic investment by Etihad Airways.
• Revamped the Talent Strategy resulting in changed approach to developing
talent pipeline and succession planning in the organization.
• Automation of HR processes.
• Provided guidance and support to leadership in employee relations with regard to
various employee representative groups resulting in 2 cycles of long term wage
settlements.
• Built, developed and lead a high-performance driven HR team, who are
champions of change, employee advocates, and trusted advisors to the
leadership team.
• Company was felicitated for its exemplary work ethic & HR practices by the
Economic Times in 2014.
• Re-design of executive compensation policies in domestic and international

Crompton Greaves Limited: General Manager (HR) 2003 to 2010
Responsible for 20 manufacturing locations and 4 regional offices in India and
supporting the integration of the HR processes of the acquired Pauwels Group, Microsol
and Ganz Transelektro with locations at Belgium, USA, Canada, Ireland, Indonesia and
Hungary. Apart from the HR function, the portfolio also included Productivity
Improvement, Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Excellence.

2. • Key achievements included introduction of HR best practices in an integrated
manner, implementing Company-wide productivity improvement programmes,
mobilizing the organization towards the Business Excellence framework and
establishing a CSR structure and agenda.
• Industrial relations profile covered an association will all major unions and
federations which included closures, retrenchment, wage settlements etc, and
dealing with the Government machinery.
• Received the “Strong Commitment to HR Excellence “commendation in the CII
HR Excellence Award 2004 – 2005.
• Spearheaded the Frost & Sullivan India Manufacturing Excellence Award in the
year 2004-2005 in the entire company in which 1 unit bagged the gold and 2
were conferred the silver plaque.
• Crompton Greaves Production System (CGPS), which was under my portfolio,
was adjudged as the one of the best practices in the Frost & Sullivan India
Manufacturing Excellence Award in the year 2004-2005.
• Received the “Significant Achievements towards HR Excellence” commendation
in the CII HR Excellence Award 2005 – 2006.
• Spear headed the implementation of the EFQM Business Excellence Model (CII
EXIM Bank Award) in the entire company. CG received the Certificate for Strong
Commitment to Excel for the year 2006.
• Amity International Business School conferred the “Amity HR Excellence Award”
to Crompton Greaves Limited for having achieved the enviable position of one of
the best and most admired companies of the world due to their innovative
strategies for Human Resource Management and development in 2006.
• Received the Commendation for “Significant Achievements on Excellence” under
the CII EXIM Bank Business Excellence Award for the year 2009.

Tata Ryerson Limited: Head (HR & IR) 1997 to 2003
As Head of HR in India was responsible for 4 production sites, and branch offices spread
across the country with a workforce of around 400 permanent
employees and 1300 outsourced manpower.
• Commenced operations of the Company through the outright purchase of the
first plant and thereafter 3 green field projects.
• Firmed up the industrial relations by having one single strong trade union.
• Established wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal
programs, bonus programs, and communication plan.
• Introduced innovative schemes like buddyship, participative management,
generic designations, and multi-skilling since inception.
• Supported ISO 9002 and QS 9000 certification process as the Management
Representative.
• Achieved 70% employee satisfaction index on a company – wide basis.
• Implemented 360º feedback survey, developed manpower potential index.
• Designed and completed the internal customer satisfaction survey exercise on a
company-wide basis.
• Competency based management was introduced.
• One of the four finalist in the Confederation of Indian Industry– ER HRD (ER)

Tata Steel: Manager (HR) 1986 to 1997

3. Started career as Personnel Officer Trainee in the India’s most prestigious Company and
grew to the level of Manager – Management Development. Was assigned the
independent charge of HR operations of Power Engineering, Establishment function,
Tube Mill and then as a Management Development specialist at its Management
Development Centre.
• Responsible for manpower rationalization and upgradation programmes while
handling employee relations.
• Supported the programme of Joint Consultation which involved worker’s
participation in Management.
• Handled the integration process after the merger of Indian Tube Company with
Tata Steel as the head of the Establishment function.
• Achieved the highest ratings on the trainer’s measurement indices.
• Implemented OD intervention methods including organization – wide
supervisor’s satisfaction survey, sensing studies, focused group study, training
etc.
• Developed proficiency in conducting training programmes in the subject of Total
Quality Management such as ISO 9000, QS 9000, Statistical Process Control and
other quality tools, in addition to social skills related management development
programmes.
• Responsible for putting in the application on behalf of TISCO in the CII-ER HRD
award in the year 1996 in which the Company bagged the 1st position.
