Rods:
Rods are Sensitive to dim
light.
They are Present everywhere
in the retina except the
fovea.
Allow dim light vision &
peripheral
vision.
There are about 125 million
rods in the average in
retina.
Cones:
Cones are Sensitive to
bright light.
It is found as Clusters
near the centre of
retina(fovea).
It Distinguishes colours &
allow sharp vision.
There are about 5 million
cones in the average
retina.

It Contains only cones & no rods.
It forms an extremely clear image.
It Is directed towards whatever
object we are studying most closely.
