2. What is it about?
• The Movie Identity is about 10 strangers who
are brought together because of a brutal
rainstorm. They all take shelter inside a motel
run by an anxious and nervous night manager.
However, fear kicks in as the ten travellers
begin to die one by one and they realise that if
they want to survive they have to uncover a
secret.

3. • In the first scene we see a cassette recorder
that an anonymous man plays. In this
recording we hear a man called: Malcom
Rivers revealing information about his
childhood and the killings. Up onto this point
we are unaware about his multiple personality
disorder.

4. RESEARCH
• The Film Identity helped me research into Psychological
Thrillers and what I would want to see in my treatment.
The film is based on a man who had multi-personality
disorder as the whole film basically took place in the
mans head as the people in the hotel were all aspects of
his personality.
• The Psychological thriller plays tricks with the viewers
mind making the viewers put the puzzles together to find
the killer. By playing with the viewers mind it produces
suspense and shows the mentality of the character and
the thought process the character goes through.

5. GENRE
• The genre we have chosen for our treatment
based on the movies we have watched and
based on our Audience research is
Psychological Thriller. A Psychological Thriller
contains elements of surprise and mystery it
and it has also become more popular over the
years.

6. TREATMENT
• Our Audience research has shown us that
most Teenagers prefer watching Psychological
thrillers. We have token this into consideration
and decided to have a Psychological thriller for
our Treatment.
• As a group we have decided to look into the
themes of Identity, Mind and perception.
