MIS Analyst/ Head of Technology
Being part of the MIS department, we are responsible for the entire Sabcool Management Information
Systems which includes our SAP legacy ERP system, the current Microsoft AX Dynamics 2012,
Honeywell Remote Mastermind console server, 9 physical server machines, Active Directory,
2010 MS Exchange, Outlook 365 and other third party applications.
Head of mobile computing and technology and the chief contact between the MIS department
and branch managers and administrators, I review requests for data alignment and of extensive
modifications of existing data and systems, determine priorities, evaluate computer systems usage
and ensure that customers' needs are met with quality information on a timely basis.
Primary Skill: Microsoft AX Dynamics 2012
Primary duties:
• Head of mobile computing and responsible for the mobile field service module on AX
Dynamics integrating with the Tensing mobile client system which allows all service calls
information processed on the Honeywell mobile devices to update back on AX Dynamics.
• Organization administration: Creating resources, engineer warehouses and engineers on AX.
• Systems administration: Creating new user accounts on AX and linking them to active directory.
• Experience with message formats including XML, Flat Files, Schemas. Responsible for over R
2.7 million mobile computing assets. Ensure integrity and reliability of management information.
• Responsible for the small client database and their cooler assets (Coke, COOEE, Quality
Beverages, Nestle, Zambezi, SG Convenience, BOS, USN and Frigoglass).
• Knowledge of integrating applications using integration middleware.
• Ensuring that inventory and stock on the mobile devices matches engineer warehouse on AX.
• Maintain and monitor corporate Dynamics AX system errors and update all errors back onto AX.
• Perform Bulk Updates and alignment of Contract Related information daily.
• Create bulk uploads of outlets, service objects; service calls and bulk scheduling for technicians.
• Conduct assessments and use the information to advice, make recommendations to
management and facilitate improvement. Perform extracts related to Audit Requirements.
• Trace errors in Integration between tensing and AX, errors relating to Contracts, Sales Order,
and Purchase Orders etc. Assist in inventory, warehouse and Stock Management.
• Recommend improvement to operational performance through analysis of information and
trends.
• Ensuring that CIC SAB call logging system integration is working and logging calls on AX.
• Provide specialist know-how, support, advice and leadership in areas of my expertise.
• Assist the invoicing department in resolving invoicing errors and stock errors.
• Liaise with other departments to understand their requirements from the systems and MI reports
• Liaise with BI Developers to maintain reports required throughout the business in line with best
practice, MIS reporting practices, principles ensuring maturity levels of IT Governance structures.
• Promote technology transfer and diffusion activities to accelerate organizational competitiveness.
• Keeping the departmental strategic plan top of mind, ensuring effective resource management
and controlling business agreements and SLA's.
• Effectively managing people, including developing strategic skills and fostering world class
delivery

• Advising the finance department on matters that have strategic and financial implications.
• Suggest policy reforms to encourage technology development and business evolution/growth.

Technical Engagements Analyst (Contractor)
I was primarily responsible for providing dedicated IT support to key users including EXXCO
members, HODs, and other international executives. Data migrations, Barclays Office site monitoring,
implementation of the Barclays Technologies on the ABSA domain, IT Services and SLA design.
Duties:
• Provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line dedicated VIP support.
• Provide leadership in directing and training junior engineers in the Barclays Africa space.
• Monitor inquiries on Remedy trouble tickets and Service Now call management systems.
• Manage the deployment of batch laptops, installing and configuring computer systems.
• Maintain IT Inventory, asset registry, audit documents, identify and escalating critical issues.
• Perform routine backups & archival of files to assist with disaster recovery.
• Manage and mitigate incident escalations to ensure service delivery.
• Facilitate the implementation of Barclay’s technologies, procedures, group policies and services
by being in constant meetings with the networks, security, exchange and instant messaging
departments. Ensuring service and uptime availability by liaising and reporting to the
Engagements Manager, Service Run Manager and Service & Capacity Manager.
• Building strong internal relationships with users by involving them in the IT service performance,
quality and efficiency improvement projects. We had initiatives such as Bar Tech and Here 2
Help IT floor sweeps to resolve user problems without logging calls.
• Machine compliance and information security: Ensuring that all devices on the domain are
compliant, this includes firewall support, hard drive encryption on laptops and updates on the
enterprise anti-virus.
• Drawing technical specification documents, deployment strategies, updating procedures and
technical support documents.
• Responsible for the full data migrations from ABSA to fusion 2 and Barclays Capital domains.
• Implementing methodologies to improve first call resolution.
• Liaising with the procurement department for procuring hardware and software as the Barclays
Regional Office grows.
• Developing descriptions and scope of the services covered by SLAs and choosing an IT
Service Management suit that will best address Service Desk and Incident Management,
Service Request Management and Service Catalos, Problem Management, Change
Management, Asset Management, Service Level Management and Configuration Management.
Reason for leaving: I needed a permanent position and I was offered one by Sabcool and the data
analyst position was more appealing as the career is a need in the market.
Gijima Holdings - Technology People
Field Service Engineer II February 2010 – May 2012
Contractor based on the ABSA account supporting a corporate banking building with over 4000 users.
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of IT equipment including (but not restricted to)
printers, scanners, laptops, pin pads, PC’s, Banking Applications, software installations & upgrades,
hardware upgrades and Nortel VPNs.
Duties:
• Provide 1st, 2nd & sometimes 3rd line support. Handling & prioritizing users’ problems.
• Installing and configuring Base SAS and enterprise SAS 4.0 for the ABSA card division.
