2. Psychology Internship
Psychology Internships provide real-world
experience to the psychology students looking
to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and
skills required to enter into a particular career
field. Internships are relatively short-term in
nature with the primary focus on getting some
on the job training and taking what’s learned
in the classroom and applying it to the real
world.

3. • Psychology Internship provide exposure to
experts in the field, as well as up-close interaction
with patients. It will help to students to understand
and react to the real time scenarios that student
will encounter as a practicing psychologist.
• Most internship is offered in the fields of clinical
psychology, Counseling Psychology and
organizational psychology, as these are areas
where the demand for psychologists is constantly
on the rise.

4. Difference between
internship and training
• First difference between two is their duration.
Training is provided to the permanent
employees of the company either they are
existing employees or new employees. After
completing the internship term, students are
not bound to work for the company. While in
case of training, students remain the
permanent employee of the company.

5. TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS
• Paid Internships: It exist primarily in the private sector or in
large organizations that have the money to pay students to
learn while they work.
• Nonprofit Internships: Doing an internship for a nonprofit
organization is usually quite different than working in an
organization for profit. Since the purpose of these organizations
is not to make money, instead they focus more on providing a
service.
• Summer internships: It is usually eight to twelve weeks long
and can be full or part-time. More students do internships
during the summer than during any other time of the year.
These short-term experiences provide a real insight into what
it’s actually like working in a particular job or career field.
There’s sufficient time to get into a regular work routine and
gain valuable knowledge and skills.

6. Provider of Psychology Internship
• Depending upon their area of specialization, students
will be placed in different hospitals, rehabilitation
centers, and reputed NGOs and industries related with
psychology. During the internship period students will
work in the particular organization during the usual
work hour of the same organization.
• students will also assist the respective organization in
different forms as desired by the authority of the
organization like collection of information for case
study, diagnosis of the problem with the help of
psychological study tools, designing training program,
developing educational materials and so on.

7. Psychology Internship
• Student can improve his/her competitive
advantage as a future job applicant by learning
and mastering related skills during his/her
internship period.
• Student can put these new items in his/her
resume and put himself/herself above other
candidates during his/her next job interview.
• No where can student get better experience
than working and learning alongside a
professional, practicing psychologist.
