2. Finally I went out to
the locations I
wanted to shoot at,
and took some
establishing shots to
work out how the
lighting would look
at the same time of
day and to gain some
ideas for which
places would be best
to shoot at.
3. The locations I felt would work best were in
my village - by the river, the weir and in the
church graveyard. I thought these were apt for
my theme of retro and gothic. The church
graveyard was originally a ‘Plan B’ idea, but
thanks to other people’s enthusiasm toward the
idea, I added it to the end of the shoot,
which turned out to work really well.
4. As a result of this establishing shoot, I came
back with many more ideas and inspiration,
which I added to the book. This improved the
shoot overall, as I had a plan, and some idea
of the locations in order to get the best out
of them.
