Lights, Camera &... you!
(A Role Play competition on Management Fads and Concepts)
Introduction:
Since globalization, ‘MANAGEMENT’ has become an all pervasive giant, encompassing every field
of our life. Without using the term management, nothing can survive or succeed in this globalized
village, thus the emergence of Event management, Pharmaceutical management, Hospital
management, Hospitality management, Biotechnology management, Life management, Death
management, etc. And above all, this all has been contributed by non-managers.
Using the term management itself has become a fashion now-a-days. More so, within management
there are plenty of fads, fashions and jargons developed by so called non-manager, management
gurus. Let us put the creative thinking cap, sit together, show the utility through some of the fads,
fashion and jargons and have some fun learning.
Rules & Regulations:
1. No limit to number of teams per institute/college, however, one team shall comprise of 5 - 7
members. No member will be allowed to be part of more than one team.
2. Participation fees Rs. 250/- per team.
3. Each team shall register on or before January 20, 2013.
4. The registered teams shall prepare appropriate script of their role play and submit to the
organizers on or before January 25, 2013.
5. All the scripts will undergo a scrutiny and selected scripts will be eligible for audition round.
Scripts will be shortlisted on the basis of content, how well the concept is presented and how
humorously.
6. The script shall revolve around minimum one of the following management concepts:
1. Brand Management 7. Business Ethics
2. Corporate Social Responsibility 8. Performance Appraisal
3. Motivation 9. Team Building
4. Stress Management 10. Leadership
5. Decision Making 11. Management Accounting
6. Pricing 12. Consumer Behaviour
7. Each team shall be allotted with a total time span of 15 minutes for the role play and 2
minutes changeover time for pre & post performance respectively during auditions & finals.
8. Short listed teams for auditions will be communicated by February 2, 2013.
9. Auditions will be based on acting, content and script equally. Emphasis will be given on how
humour is used in presenting the concept. Drapery is not expected at the auditions.
10. Facilities available at Audition stage:
a. 2 tables b.7 chairs
11. 40% weightage will be given for content and script, 40% weightage will be given for acting
and presentation of the script and remaining 20% is reserved for costume and drapery in the
finals.
12. Facilities available for Finals:
a. Lights (Light man to be arranged by the teams)
b. Sound system c. 2 tables d. 7 chairs
13. The teams are free to bring their own properties as per their requirements; institute is not
liable to pay anything extra over the facilities mentioned above.
14. The decision of the judges will be full and final and the same will be a binding on all. Once
the decisions taken, no appeal for review will be entertained.
