- Technology affects which ways people use social media
- How we intercept and perceive messages through social media is differently than face-to-
face interactions
Relevance: It’s is as current as tomorrows latest piece of technology
- Social media & technology are widely used, relatively easy to access, and plays an influential
role for those in society
- People grow up with a different social experience and face difficulties interacting in person
based on their dependency to communicate through social media
- For better or worse we are all impacted by the effects of technology and social media

Importance: Why we must do something about this
- This topic covers the topic of communication and how messages can be interpreted
in many different ways, which invites inconsistency to ones message
- Communication is more or less a survival skill
- Communication is how we establish and maintain relationships
- Technology is constantly changing and many ways of avoiding face-to-face
conversations have been given as an option
Why is this Issue important

- How can we help further develop people’s social skills beyond the use of social
media?
- What’s the risk of too much social media?
- How will the future look if people aren’t able to communicate effectively?
- If there is to be change, are people willing to comply?
- Who will teach children ho to communicate if majority of people are not able to
communicate effectively already?
- Why do kids have such access and availability to the internet now as opposed to
when previous generations first started using the internet?
- How will jobs run in the future if employees can’t communicate well?
