I am a confident, driven and dynamic individual who thrives on challenges and who performs
particularly well when under pressure. My greatest strengths are my ability to generate ideas, to
focus on the end goal, and my problem solving abilities in a challenging or pressured situation. I
have recently completed my second Ironman and fifth consecutive Comrades marathon and I am
always pushing myself to achieve more. One of my greatest personal characteristics is the ability to
treat all people fairly and with respect and compassion. I am good at identifying opportunities and
enjoy using my initiative when it comes to ‘out of the box’ thinking. I have a passion for working
with people in the context of constructing meaningful relationships. My active lifestyle is a direct
representation of my personality. I am a goal orientated individual and am constantly working
toward the next challenge.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Brock Biokinetics – (October 2013 – Present) I have opened my own private practice where all
business responsibilities fall upon my shoulders. Responsibilities include accounts, appointment
bookings as well as treatment sessions. I have found that one of the most important aspects of
running a successful business is the constant self-marketing that is required. As a business that
relies on referrals from various sources I have to maintain strong relationships with the colleagues in
my industry as well as my existing client base. As a business owner I have learnt to work with
people in many different circumstances all with different requirements and demands. One of the
most important aspects of my business is to teach individuals the principles of biokinetics and for
them to fully understand these in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have also started a business
producing foam rollers (Boom rollers). The idea came from interacting with my clients and
listening to their needs and and grievances with existing rollers. Together with a friend we are
responsible for marketing and selling them throughout wellness centres throughout Johannesburg.
2. Pearson and Pearson Biokinetics – (December 2010 – September 2013) A private practice based
in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The practice is focused on improving quality of movement with a
special focus on using the principals of functional movements to achieve this. Working with a wide
variety of patients from young children referred to work on low muscle tone to post-operative
treatment plans. I take part in corporate wellness days in association with nurses and dieticians that
involve a number of screening tests to assess overall health. Special emphasis is placed on patient
education so that the client receives the best possible advice.
Ilse Senekal Biokineticists (December 2008 – December 2010) Based at the Milpark hospital in
Johannesburg I completed my 2nd
year of internship and 1st
year as a qualified biokineticist at the
practice. The practice received referrals from a number of orthopaedic surgeons and
physiotherapists in the area. Duties included opening up the practice and managing appointments,
marketing the practice through feedback to the orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists.
Assessing clients ranged from post-operative cardiothoracic and orthopaedic surgery to individuals
requiring professional guidance to improve their overall health often related to lifestyle diseases.
