2. Our film is a collage of fabulous moments that represent a life beautifully lived; our film is an ode to all those wonderful moments that mature into
timeless memories stretching the scope of life beyond its measurable and finite boundaries. It is a tribute to that evergreen feeling; that eternal longing
for your past; nostalgia. Life is a beautiful ride that moves forward into the future and along the way picks up pieces of the past in form of beautiful and
delicate memories. It is these memories that give meaning to life, that add sentimentality to life and that give us an opportunity to reflect upon the life
lived. Memory is that wonderful abstract concept that weaves its way around everything that is tangible and becomes an entity in the process. The world
around you becomes pregnant with memories and associations until this world transforms into something far more meaningful, layered and cherished.
“You can always trust in the timeless quality of Sadolin.”There is nothing like bright and beautiful colours to evoke wonderful and vivid memories from
your childhood. Colours don’t just beautify the world we live in but give it meaning and character. Colours tell us a story; a story rich with history,
emotion and flavour. Colours are often associated with intense feelings and each colour has the power to evoke a strong yet nuanced emotion. Colours
often separate us from the herd, colours define us, colours give us a personality and colours quite accurately describe us.The colours with which we
paint our world say something about us.The world would be a rather drab place without this rich palette of colours. Our film beautifully captures the
journey of one man whose life has been enriched by colours; this film is his tribute to the splendid phenomenon that is colours!
4. The kid runs towards the father and then escapes from under the father’s arm. He pushes open a door and enters a room as a
teenage boy dressed in a school uniform. He flings his bag across the room, sits at the desk, opens a small wooden box, opens a
small Sadolin paint tin and starts painting.
“Colour was more than just a feeling…”
We cut to him offering the same wooden box to a young teenage girl. She opens it to find a stunning necklace inside. She is
overwhelmed with emotions. Her cheeks turn red, tears well up in her eyes and an ear to ear smile breaks out on her face.
“Colour wasn’t just about setting a scene...”
We cut to a few years later. Our boy is all grown up. He and his beautiful girlfriend wearing the same necklace are having dinner
under the open sky.The dusk has dawned upon the world and has lent it a glorious mauve tinge. Our boy suddenly gets off his
seat and kneals down in front of the girl. The girl’s jaw falls open.
“Colour was definitely more than creating a party feel…”
5. A few more gorgeous moments down the line in life and we are at a wedding reception; the most colourful, joyous celebration one has seen. The
bride and the groom are glowing as they dance around the room.
We see a room painted in a wonderful combination of pink and blue.
“It may have done nothing to define who our baby would be…”
We cut to a beautiful lawn lining the most impeccably painted house in the neighbourhood. It’s a house that belongs to a man who has done well
in life. He and his little kids are spraying water on each other and jumping around happily.
“But in the grand scheme of things after a life long-lived…”
6. We cut to a few years later. Our guy sits down in a rocking chair and catches his breath. He is much older now, old
age has caught up with him.
“I came to discover that colour may mean so many things…”
He calmly watches his children and grandchildren as they make their way in life.
“Even though the years will come and go.”
It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon. He is painting a small wooden highchair. His daughter, still sleepy, comes and sits next to
him, puts her hand around her dad’s shoulder and gives him a peck on his cheek.
“You can always trust in the timeless quality of Sadolin. And despite what other people will say, it makes me happy to
say that Sadolin is here to stay.”
We cut to the product shot of Sadolin paint cans of different colours and sizes.
“Sadolin Paints, adding colour to your world since 1959. Let’s colour.”
7. Cast & Character
Our film is a nostalgic journey in time, it is a film that
encapsulates a person’s life in a few seconds and yet
retains its essence, meaning and purpose. It is the story of
one man whose fulfilling life is made up of many
marvelous moments; moments enriched with meaningful
bonds. A film about journey of life, moments and
memories needs compelling characters to make it come
alive. It needs actors to bring some of their experiences
and breathe them into these characters so their stories
echo through eternity. It goes without saying hence that
casting is an absolute key. Our film is one man’s journey
from childhood to old age. While each age group would
be played by a different actor, it would be absolutely
crucial to ensure that they appear to be one person, not
just in appearance but also in body language, mannerisms
and habits. Our main guy is a wonderfully likeable and
affable character whose life we have been following ever
since he was 3 years old. From being a playful, naughty
young man to be a responsible adult to a fulfilled and
contented old man, his life is a truly wholesome journey
with many beautiful moments, memories and people in it.
We can clearly see that there is an artistic flair about
him right from his childhood; colours, paints and brushes
are an intrinsic part of his life. Right from his childhood
when he made that finger painted family picture, we
have known a lot about him; not just his painting skills
but also about his value system and his love & respect
for his family. We know right from that time that family
and loved ones are going to be central to his life. From
being born in a traditional modest home he now owns a
rather nice bungalow; he has worked hard for it, he
cherishes it and he has painted every inch of it with his
own hands like his father did. As a professional artist, he
has done well in life but there is no arrogance about
him; he still paints his own walls and his grandchild’s
highchair. These little pleasures is what he seeks now.
Paints and colours are such a valuable part of his
existence that his hands are barely ever free of
paintbrushes and colours; colours truly give him an
identity.
All the other characters around him; his father, his wife,
and his children are essentially an extension of himself.
They are all wonderful, warm and vibrant people who
know how to value the real essence of life.
9. …TO TODAY; A FULFILLING
JOURNEY OF LIFE FULL OF
MOMENTS & MEMORIES
10. Look & Feel
Just as our character matures with age, his little world
around him changes too. We see the film progress from
the period of 60s till it reaches the modern times with its
gadgets and advanced technology. These changes become
apparent in the film through choice of colours for the
house, the cars that roll by, the clothes that he wears, the
electronics in his house and even the Sadolin paints pack.
We can even give a different colour tone to each of the
eras we see in the film. Our man’s life courses through 6
different periods – childhood, adolescence, teenage,
youth, middle age and old age. Each period would have a
slightly different tint to separate it from the other and
also to give it colour and flavour.
We start the film with a small traditional house in which
our boy is seen making a finger painting of his family on
the wall. This is a modest house but as time progresses
and our guy does well in life, his circumstances and
lifestyle change. He acquires a beautiful bungalow
adorned with a lawn and a garden that exhibit his
prosperity.
In the first situation where the little boy is colouring the
white wall, we see a traditional modest house from the
60s. Its an absolutely vacant bare room with white walls
that has been prepped for painting. The only colour is
the golden of the sun that seeps in through the windows
and colours the room in its beautiful warm light.
In the second situation the room would perhaps be the
same room but now it’s lived-in. The paint is still fresh
and the room looks beautiful and warm. It’s a small room
with old and modest furniture but there is a happy
emotion that lingers in this room. It’s late afternoon and
the room is well lit from the sun outside. The desk lamp
is on under which our boy makes his painting which is
much beyond his years.
The third situation when he is a teenager giving a gift to
his girlfriend can also perhaps take place in the same
room. In that sense we can see the journey of the room
as well which may still have the same furniture but the
walls are now painted in a different colour. Some of the
furniture has been replaced and some has now acquired
an antique-y feel.
11. THE JOURNEY BEGINS IN THE 60s – IN THIS BARE WHITE
ROOM WHERE OUR KID EXHIBITS HIS INNER ARTIST
13. The fourth situation is that romantic moment in which
our young man proposes to the love of his life. Under the
clear skies of that magic hour time, in an open restaurant
adorned with beautiful lantern lights. The lights lend the
magical bokeh effect to the surroundings and add majesty
to the setting. It is an ideal setting for a romantic
moment. The perfectly round orange sun adorns the
crimson sky and lends the world a rosy-magenta hue that
fills up people with a feeling of elation. The glow of the
lantern lights hanging from the trees highlights the joy on
our characters’ faces.
Now comes the big moment – the wedding of our
lovely couple. It’s a grand wedding under the open sky by
a lovely lake that glimmers in the winter sun shining
down upon it. Our couple look royal in their wedding
gown and suit standing out against the bright colourful
decoration of flowers, lights and fabric. The greens of the
nature lend the sobering feeling of freshness to the
setting.Their house in the backdrop is a small traditional
house but there is a newness to it thanks to the beautiful
bright colours with which it has been painted to mark
the joyous occasion.
A new chapter has begun. We now introduce the new
house; one of the rooms has been painted in pink and
blue colours to welcome a new member to the family.
The combination of the two colours is clearly symbolic
of the fact that whether it is a boy or a girl, they would
be treated with the same love. It is also a wonderfully
pleasing colour combination to the eyes. With cute
objects adorning the room, it looks like a beautiful
birthday cake.

17. We see our new house for the first time in its entirety. It
is quite evident that the guy has done well in life from the
house in front of us. It’s a beautiful bungalow with a lush
lawn that further augments its plushness. The green
garden with beautiful blossoms and the sparkling pond
somewhere in the backdrop add drama to the setting. It’s
been a few years since the house was bought which is
evident from the fact that the guy has now grown older
and his little kids are playing in the lawn but the house
still looks brand new in the exterior paints that keep it
looking fresh.
The last three sequences take place in the modern
world. The house, now quite old, takes on an old-world
antique flavour with dark brown tones across the house.
Some of the objects in the house may be old but the
addition of electronics gives away the era in which it
lives. The house itself is still in great condition with
beautiful walls in nice bright/pastel colours that stand out
against the deeper tones of the furniture and the
furnishings.
The big windows that open out on to the lawns allow in
plenty of sunlight to light up the entire house. With
beautiful antique lamps in the corners, the light-&-
shadow play lend great depth, dimension and drama to
the surroundings.
Romancing camera, caressing movements, smooth
dissolves and the colours merging into one another will
give us nice transition points from one era to another.

21. Product
Sadolin paints add colour and brightness to moments
that will become memories as life goes on.
In order to highlight the role of Sadolin Paints in the film,
we would use a range of colours not only to depict its
wide array but also the changing styles across the years.
The drops of paint falling in slow motion into the can
creating gorgeous ripples would be one of the images
that would etch itself in the minds of the audiences.
We would use nice caressing camera movements to
capture the texture and the colour of the walls, high
speed shots to underline the relationship between the
eyes of the beholder and the cheerful walls and close up
& macro shots to emphasize the smoothness of every
brush stroke on the canvas that is the artistic wall.
The brightness of the walls would add cheeriness to the
modest house and the pastels would add affluence and
appeal to the luxurious house we see later in the film.
I will ensure that the product becomes a character and a
living, breathing protagonist in the film that leaves a deep
impact on the minds of the characters in the film as well
as the audiences at home.
