Website Recommendations
1. Looking through the Girl Scouts website I was able to come across a lot of
information, which of course is a good thing. The only problem with that is the audience
is bombarded with information. Perhaps changing the point size to be a little larger, as
well as condensing information can help with it being more appealing. I would also
recommend reducing the amount of tabs there are. For example, putting “who we are”
and “Our history,” and “what we stand for” under one tab can reduce the amount of tabs
used.
2. I would also recommend having a page on the site where some of the girls give a
testimony of what their experience has been like, as well as a picture of them. This will
allow parents who are interested in Girl Scouts see the young girls experience.
3. One way to keep people going back to the Girl Scouts website is by including a
game. This game would be set for the younger girls. The game could include challenges
that can earn the girls in the game badges. This could make the younger Girl Scouts
eager to join.
4. The Girl Scouts Logo should be bigger to catch the viewers’ attention. We need
to know what website we are on, especially being on the home screen.
5. Although the mission statement is on the first page, you do need scroll down in
order to read it. Since the tabs are easily accessible on top, people won’t scroll down
very often.
6. I would also suggest adding more color to the page, perhaps on the tabs.
Something subtle would do just fine.
7. On the page to support a Girl Scout, including a child statement as to why they
need help financially will get more people to donate money. This will help the people
see a face behind the help they are providing.
