1.) Head to WordPress.comand click on the “sign up now”
button:

and the little “strength” bar will tell you if
you’ve chosen a strong password or not.

and tick the appropriate box.

username.
– “Just a username” is for people who want to
comment on specific WordPress blogs, but not
create their own blog.

7.) On the next screen, choose a domain name
for your first blog.

10.) If you want people to be able to find your
content via WordPress.com or search engines,
make sure that you check the appropriate box.
If you’re planning on running a private blog,
you’ll want this to be unchecked.

11.) Click on “sign up,” and we’ll send you a
confirmation email. You’ll need to respond to
this to verify that you’re human.

Before you unleash your brilliance on the world, you’ll need to set aside a few minutes to sign up for a blog, adjust your settings, and acquaint yourself with WordPress.com publishing.
You’ll use this to log into your blog. Your username can’t be changed, so it’s a good idea to choose one that you’ll be happy with in the weeks, months or years to come.
Now it’s time to think up a password. Try to make it a little more difficult to guess than “password” or your cat’s name – and remember to write it down and keep track of it!
(you’ll be able to add others later). This is the unique address that people will visit to check out your blog.
(You can change this later in your Settings menu — we’ll show you that in a bit.)

If you can’t find the email in your inbox, check your spam or trash folders. After you click “sign up” – minimize this window, and open a “new browser window” – go to your email and check for the confirmation. If/When you see it – click on the link in the email as shown.12.) If you made a mistake with your email address, you can update it from the same page you used to create your profile.
