A Buffyverse Apocalypse: Chapter Eight
1. A Buffyverse Apocalypse: Chapter Eight
By RoseFyre
I won't be doing a recap, so go read the earlier chapters if you want to know what happened!
---
Still don't own any of the Buffy/Angel locations/characters.
2. "So, we're finally at college," Fred said to me as she got out the ingredients for omelets.
"Yeah, you are," I answered. "Want to show the nice readers the rest of the house?"
"Sure."
3. "Here's the first floor. There's a bathroom in the back right corner, behind the stairs. To the left, there's a couch, TV,
stereo, and bookcase. In front of that is the cooking area, and a table to eat at."
4. "Upstairs, there's two bedrooms - one with two single beds and one with a double bed. The bathroom has the one
mirror in the house. In the hallway, there's the one computer, the dartboard, and the chess table." Fred looked back
at me. "Good enough?"
"Yup. You guys did well for under $25,000."
"Thanks. No wallpaper or flooring yet, but we'll fix that soon."
"I'm sure you will."
5. Meanwhile, Rupert went upstairs to work on his Creativity skill. That was the one skill that he hadn't been able to
study as a teen, but he knew he would need to be creative in order to do well at college.
6. Downstairs, Will greeted Roberta Conner, who'd been walking by. She turned on the stereo and began to dance.
"What dance are you doing?"
"The hula. Your grandfather taught it to me after he went to Lihue with his girlfriend."
"Cool."
8. Fred reluctantly began to do the movements, copying what he was doing.
He may have been right about how fun the hula was, but that didn't mean she was going to admit it.
9. After classes that afternoon, the campus mascot came by.
He didn't seem to mind that Will was rather stinky.
10. Will, however, did mind, and found the sink. For the first time, he took a spongebath. "This actually works well."
11. Then he went to bed.
"So how come you get the double bed?"
"I'm the only one who can woohoo, since Fred likes men and Rupert likes women, and there's no birth control. They
both said they don't want me woohooing in their beds, so they gave me the double."
"...Good reason."
"I thought so."
12. The next day, the phones were working again, so they invited over everyone they knew.
"Fred, thanks for letting me bring a friend."
"The more the merrier! Besides, I wanted to meet someone new." Fred looked Marisa up and down. "What's with the
work clothes?"
"Oh, I came straight from work. What's with the nightgown?"
Fred arched an eyebrow. "I don't believe that I should have to put on clothing if I don't want to."
"Not worried about other people seeing you without clothing?"
"Should I be?"
Marisa shrugged. "Probably not."
13. "Hi, I'm Will. Have I met you?"
"I don't think so. I'm Lynne, Lynne Fitzgerald. I used to work with Marisa."
"Ah. Great to meet you."
14. Will wandered off to go talk to Xander, so Rupert decided to come over and say hi. "Hi, I'm Rupert."
"I'm Lynne, I'm friends with Marisa.”
"It's nice to meet you."
"Thanks." She smiled at him. "Your whole family is so welcoming, it's great being here."
"You haven't talked to Fred or Willow yet, have you?"
"No..."
"If you want to believe we're all nice and friendly, don't."
"I'll keep that in mind."
15. In fact, Rupert and Lynne found that they really enjoyed talking to each other, even as day turned to night.
16. And they stayed outside while the rest of the guests went inside to eat dinner.
19. "Marisa!"
"Xander, I love you. Now shut up and hug me back."
---
I was very pleased to see this. Couples who interact autonomously are always good.
20. "Thanks for having us, little brother."
"No problem."
"It's been great being here. I've got to go, though - I've got work early in the morning."
"See you soon?"
"Next time the phones work, we'll be here."
21. The next morning, Lynne called Rupert.
"I had a wonderful time last night."
"Thanks, so did I. Anytime you want to come over, feel free."
"I'd love to, but I've got work today. I'll come by on my next day off, though."
"Come over after work," Rupert said. Then he wondered if he'd sounded a bit too eager to see her. He didn't want to
sound desperate, after all.
"I will, but not today," she said. He breathed a sigh of relief, then worried a bit. Was she just putting him off? "I've
got an important client dinner meeting. I don't know what time I'll get out, but it'll probably be late. I'll come by in a
few days, though."
"Great! See you then!"
22. After talking to Lynne, Rupert headed upstairs and worked on his term paper.
"They require term papers in intro courses?"
"Nope. I changed my major to Physics. Will and Fred did, too."
"Why?"
"They advertise job opportunities in Paranormal, Gamer, Medical, and Science. All of those except for Science are
extremely useful."
"Ah." I looked at him. "And what exactly are you angry about?"
"Oh, nothing."
"...Right."
23. Fred and Will also did work for their classes, though, since there was only one computer, they did assignments
instead.
All three of them would do a lot of assignments, and a lot of term papers, during their time in college.
24. They did, however, take breaks.
"Enjoying college so far?" Rupert asked his siblings over a lunch of grilled cheese.
"Actually, yes," Fred said. "though I don't like the assignments."
"Yeah, assignments are annoying," Will said. "Classes are okay, I guess."
25. "Why is the computer blocked off?"
"The phone lines aren't working, Will."
"What?"
"You can't play SSX3."
"You suck."
26. Fred also found two new loves: hanging out in her nightgown, and primping.
"I look hot."
"Why the nightgown?"
"I don't believe I should have to wear clothing if I don't want to."
---
And she didn't want to. Prepare to see Fred only in her nightgown for, oh, the next three years or so.
27. In fact, even when they went to their final exam, Fred stayed in her nightgown.
All three of them came back with a 4.0 and $1200. Half of that money immediately went toward mob payments, but
the rest was used to start wallpapering the house.
28. After their final, they headed out to the Los Angeles Community Center, to take a study break.
29. While there, Fred met Kenneth Collins. While she liked him, she wasn't sure he was the one.
Still, there was no harm in flirting.
30. A couple of days later, I stopped by to accept the mob payments.
32. "Rupert, your brother stinks."
"Tell me about it." Rupert looked up at his brother, who was walking down the stairs. "Go wash yourself, Will." Then
in a quieter voice, he hissed, "I'm trying to get Lynne to kiss me."
Will just rolled his eyes, then headed to the bathroom.
35. The next morning, Fred found a random dormie who had walked by the night before sleeping in his plate. "Ew," she
said, as she caught his smell, "he stinks."
36. Then she went to clean up the coffee cups.
"My brothers are insane."
"Oh?"
"They have an obsession with jumping on the couch."
"And you have an obsession with walking around in your nightgown. Your point is?"
She rolled her eyes. "They're insane." Then she shook her head. "Pleasure Sims. I'll never understand them."
37. That evening, Fred got a call from Kenneth. "No, sorry, I can't go on an outing. What's an outing anyway?" She
listened for a moment. "Oh. Nope, can't go. Sorry. I'll stop by the community center tomorrow, though, if you want
to meet there." She tilted her head. "Yeah. See you there."
As she hung up the phone, she looked at me. "I'm not sure about him. I like him, but..."
"It's okay not to be sure," I said. "You can keep looking, see if you find someone you like more."
"Yeah," she said, "I guess."
38. They did end up going to the community center, and Kenneth
40. However, she still wasn't sure he was the one. Sometimes he seemed more interested in her chest than in her brains.
While she knew any guy was likely to notice her chest in her nightgown, sometimes he didn't seem to notice anything
else.
41. Time passed; they wrote term papers, did assignments, went to class, worked on their skills, talked to walkbys, and
did little things to gain aspiration points.
Sophomore year, they got the phones to work again, and Rupert eagerly invited Lynne over.
The rest of the family came too.
"Um, PDA much?"
"You have no right to complain."
"I do! He's my younger brother!"
"Willow, you're a Romance Sim. You've flirted with lots of different people. You don't."
She sniffed. "Logic is overrated."
42. "Rupert."
"Yes, Lynne?"
She took a deep breath. "I love you."
"You don't have to say-"
"No, I do. I mean it."
He smiled. "I love you too."
43. "Someone managed to break the sink," Fred grumbled to me as I watched her fix the sink.
"Uh, you know that hitting it with a wrench might actually break it more?"
"It's always worked before," she said as she slammed the wrench into the faucet. "It'll work again."
44. "Pillow fight?" "Not really."
"Sure." Will grabbed one of the couch cushions. "Low aspiration?" "What do you want, then?" Will asked as he hit Rupert again.
"To buy a stereo costing at least $1800."
"Very." Rupert grabbed his own pillow. "I don't...I'm never happy,
Will." Then he slammed the pillow into his brother's side.
"We can't afford it."
"You like jumping on the couch." Will beaned Rupert with his pillow.
"And to buy a game."
"Only occasionally." "That either."
"Watching TV?" Rupert hit Will hard. "I know we can't afford them. Doesn't stop me
from wanting them."
45. "Okay, I like wandering around in my nightgown, but that's too little clothing even for me."
"I'm glad you think so," I said.
46. At the end of their sophomore year, the family stopped by again, and the cats actually, amazingly, had a positive
interaction.
It still wasn't enough to save their relationship, though.
47. "Lynne," Rupert said, as he dropped to one knee.
"Rupert?"
"I know I've only known you for a couple of years, but I love you."
"I love you too."
48. "And I want to love you forever." He pulled a box from his pocket and held it out to her. "Or at least for the rest of
our lives. Lynne Fitzgerald, will you marry me?"
49. "Oh, Rupert! Of course I will." She jumped on him. Luckily, he'd already stood up and was able to catch her and twirl
her around.
50. To celebrate their engagement, Rupert, Will, and Fred went to the Los Angeles Community Center. It wasn't much of
a celebration - there was so little they could do there - but they didn't realize how limited they were.
And Will fell in love with the poker table.
52. And Rupert found his enjoyment in other places: cleaning the toilets.
While the family's Neat points are generally nice, sometimes they enjoy very odd things.
53. After leaving the poker table, Fred decided to try talking to people instead.
One of them was Armando Cox.
54. She asked him to hang out.
"Uh, Fred, you realize you can't even see each other?"
"So?"
"And you're kind of distracting me from the poker game?"
"So?"
Will sighed. "Fine, do what you want."
55. "I like him," she said to me. "A lot."
"Good! Try flirting with him!"
56. Fred decided not to scare Armando away, and admired him instead.
57. He was very happy to accept that admiration, and admired her back.
Fred smiled widely. "I really like him."
From that point on, Kenneth Collins became an afterthought. He didn't seem too upset that Fred stopped calling him,
at least.
58. After sitting at the poker table for about seven hours, Will found that he stank. So, he took a spongebath in the
community bathroom.
59. Fred kept talking to Armando, and their crushes came mutually as they hugged.
60. "Is he good enough for my sister?"
"I think so."
Rupert twisted his lips. "If you're sure."
61. Downstairs, a fight was happening.
I have no idea why Komei Tellerman and Chester Gieke hate each other, but apparently they do.
62. The next morning, as they prepared for their final exam, Fred took a ReNuYu potion. She liked Armando so much that
blond men with lots of Charisma weren't all that attractive anymore, and she wanted to change her turn-ons to reflect
that.
64. And then Will grabbed them both, and Jasmine Rai, who'd stopped by, for a waterballoon fight to up his aspiration.
"I still don't find this all that enjoyable," Rupert said to me as he fell down, having been hit pretty hard. "I mean, I
like hanging out with Will and Fred. But I don't get why Will loves this sort of thing so much."
"Well," I said to him, "you'll have to find out what you want. You and Will aren't the same person."
"I know. And I have an idea about that."
"Oh?"
"Talk to me after finals."
"Will do."
66. When Will was done, Rupert wrote his.
"Aspiration points?"
"Oh, those are nice."
"Uh..."
"You know I haven't been happy as a Pleasure Sim."
"Yeah."
"Right. I changed my aspiration."
"To what?"
68. When the phones worked again, Fred invited Armando over, and was scrutinized by her other brother.
"Hey, if she's happy, that's cool. And if she's not, she can handle herself."
Well, sort of scrutinized.
70. "You'd better be nice to my sister," Rupert said, poking Armando in the chest. "Because if you're not, you'll have to
answer to me."
71. "I have absolutely no intention of hurting Winifred. She's a wonderful person."
Rupert looked him up and down. "Alright. I'll trust you. For now." He turned to walk away, then turned back. "But I'll
be watching."
72. "Things are going well, don't you think?" "I also want to get out of this stupid outfit."
Willow raised her eyebrows. "Sorry, can't help you there." Willow threw the dart and
Anya moved out the way. "One of us should talk to the
"What? Rupert and Lynne are engaged, Fred and kids about the heirship."
Armando seem to really like each other, and Will's happy
jumping on couches." "You do it. I'm in way too bad a mood."
"I want to move out already." Anya shrugged. "Okay."
"You're not growing older!"
73. Accordingly, Anya pulled Rupert aside and talked to him about the conversation that she and Willow and Xander had
had with their father, when Martin had offered the heirship to her or Willow, and how they'd refused.
"So it's going to be one of us three?"
"Yup, but it's up to you guys to decide."
"I'll have to talk to Will and Fred about that."
"Makes sense."
74. "So, why are you by yourself?"
"Didn't want to write a term paper. Actually had to go to class."
"And the coat?"
"It's freezing out. I love the nightgown, but I was getting cold."
75. "Hello, this is Sim Travel. How may I help you?"
"I'd like to book a trip to Lihue."
"For how many people?"
"Five."
"Very good. When would you like to go?"
76. "Um, how about next year? Can we book for next year now? For three days, two nights, during spring break."
"Yes, you can. Tickets will be $300 per person, and you'll be billed immediately."
"Okay, that works."
77. "Would you like to choose your hotel now, miss?"
"Ugh, no. We'll pick when we get there."
"Of course. Is that everything?"
78. "Yeah, I think we're good."
"So that's five people, flying to Lihue on the first day of UC Sunnydale's spring break, returning two days later."
"Yup!" As Fred hung up, she smiled. They were going on vacation! Not for a while, but still, vacation!
79. "So why'd you want to talk?" Will asked as he sat down outside with his siblings. "And why outside? It's cold out
here!"
80. "It's pretty nice," Rupert said, "and I kind of like the cold air. It's fresh."
"Anyway," Fred said, "I wanted to tell you guys about how I just got us plane tickets to Lihue for vacation. We're
going next week, and bringing Armando and Lynne."
81. "Vacation?" Will said. "Cool!"
"Did you ask Lynne and Armando if they want to come?" Rupert asked.
"Nah. I'll talk to Armando tomorrow, but talking to Lynne is up to you."
"I'll make sure she can get off work."
82. "Well, since we're all sitting here, there's another thing we need to talk about," Rupert pointed out.
"What's that?" Will asked.
"Heirship."
83. "What about the heirship?" Fred asked.
"Who wants it."
"What do you mean?"
"I talked to Anya the other day, and she said that both she and Willow had refused the heirship, even though Dad
offered it to either one of them. So it's one of us three, but it's up to us to decide."
84. "Well," Will said, "I don't want it."
"You don't?"
"Nope. The heir has to get married, right? I think I'd like marriage even less than Mom did."
All three of them knew that their parents had never really been happy in their marriage, and that their mother had
been especially unhappy, even though their parents had tried not to say anything to them. Children notice those
types of things.
"Also," Will added, "I have no one I want to marry. And I have no interest in kids. Or having them."
85. Rupert turned to Fred. "I guess it's up to us, then." He noticed Will starting to stand. "No, stay, you might have
something to add." Will sat down again. Rupert turned back to Fred. "Do you want to be heir?"
Fred hesitated for a moment. "I don't know."
86. Rupert gestured. "I don't know either. It's a lot of work, but it's also a lot of benefits. The heir gets the house-"
"With the ghosts," Fred pointed out.
"True. But we're all going to have to live with them until we help fix things. But the heir can get married immediately,
while the other one of us can't. And I want to marry Lynne, and I know you want to marry Armando."
"I'd like to, but I haven't proposed yet. Besides, doesn't the heir have to have, like, lots of kids? I don't know if I want
that many."
87. "That's one of the reasons I'm not sure," Rupert answered. "I'd like a kid or two, but Dad had six of us. That's a lot."
Fred nodded. "Yeah."
88. "Do we really have to decide now, though?"
"What?"
"I mean," Fred said, "we've got over a year and a half left of college. We don't need to know for sure until we're
ready to move back home." Rupert nodded.
89. "And don't you think you should talk to your significant others?"
"What?" Fred and Rupert both turned to Will.
"I mean, they're going to have to move in, and help fix things, and all that. Shouldn't they get a say? Especially if
you're both not sure. Maybe one of them is."
90. "That's...a good idea," Rupert said.
"You get Lynne to come to Lihue, I'll get Armando to come, and we can all talk about it there," Fred said.
"Sounds like a plan."
Will grinned. He didn't have to be heir, and hopefully things would work out.
91. He got up and headed toward the house. While his siblings might like the fresh air, he was cold.
92. College went on.
Will danced the hula a lot, especially now that there were plans for them to go to Lihue. He wanted to be completely
prepared.
93. Fred and Rupert also danced, though they tried other dances besides the hula.
"Fred?"
"Yeah?"
"You're a little too close."
"You sure you're not a little too close?"
94. And, of course, all three of them worked on school stuff - assignments, term papers, and skilling.
None of them ever completed a novel, but they got Creativity points from working on them. And, they managed to
maintain their grades, even though the mob took half of their grant money every semester.
95. "Hey, Lynne, can you come over? We're having lots of people. Cool!"
96. Before Lynne made it into the house, however, she got distracted by a fight.
97. Unsurprisingly, it was the cats.
Again.
Luckily, they were able to lock the animals out of the house. Unluckily, they couldn't stop them from fighting.
98. Then Fred distracted her with a water balloon fight. She felt that she should know her sister-in-law-to-be a bit better,
and Armando was still at work, so she couldn't talk to him immediately.
99. Finally, Rupert was able to pull Lynne away. He chose to serenade her.
She quite enjoyed it.
100. In fact, she enjoyed it so much that she immediately said yes when he invited her to join them on the trip to Lihue.
101. "Willow, what's wrong?"
"Guh." She vomited a bit more. "I think it's food poisoning."
I crossed my fingers. Sickness would be bad. While food poisoning wouldn't be good, at least it wouldn't be horrible.
102. When he got out of work, Armando came over. Fred greeted him very enthusiastically.
103. And they both found themselves in love with each other, even though Fred had to answer her phone - one of her
professors was calling.
104. When she got off, she pulled Armando to the center of the room and got down on one knee.
"Armando," she said, "will you marry me?"
105. "Yes, I will," he said, taking the ring and putting it on.
"Also, will you come to Lihue with me and Rupert and Will and Lynne?"
"Of course."
"Good."
Then she kissed him again.
106. Rupert then went to talk to Armando, and Will pulled Lynne away. He also wanted to get to know her a bit better.
As the night got later, people started to leave. It had been a good gathering, though.
107. The next night, Jessie Pilferson stopped by.
"You know, we're being a total cliché?"
"So?"
108. Then Fred laid on the couch and watched Jessie and Will dance. "I think I'll let them embarrass themselves this time."
109. The sinks continued to break at least once every three days or so, and all three of them did their share of fixing
them.
When the computer broke, however, they bought a new one. No one wanted to risk electrocution.
110. One day, the coach stopped by. "Work out! Work out harder!"
111. When he left, Will decided to continue doing yoga. He could stand to get a bit fitter.
Sit-ups, however, were not in the plan.
112. Finally, it was time for their vacation. They packed up their bags and caught the cab.
It was the first time Fred had worn her actual clothing since she'd first changed into her nightgown.
Unfortunately, SimAir required shirts and shoes, so she put them on.
113. "May I help you, Sir?"
"Yeah, we'll book three rooms."
"What size would you like, Sir?"
"Kings. All kings."
"Very good. Sign here."
114. "This vacation was a great idea. I'm meeting the natives, talking to people, this is great!"
115. After checking in, they all headed over to the hot springs.
Fred wanted to learn how to give a hot stone massage.
117. Then he changed into his bathing suit as well, and they enjoyed the hot springs together.
118. Will, meanwhile, managed to convince Goopy Kimbrell here that going on a date would be an excellent idea.
119. And, after her massage lesson, Fred invited Armando to join her in the hammock.
120. "That was fun. But now I think I need to get my head out of this pillow."
121. Will also took advantage of the showers. "Whoa! This is way better than spongebathing!"
122. After a bit of rest, they headed out to the shops and got some food.
The pineapple surprise was okay, but Fred kind of missed the food from home.
123. "So why are we sitting here?" Armando asked. After finishing dinner, Fred had pulled him over to the couches, where
Rupert was waiting.
"We needed to talk." She turned to Rupert. "Lynne's on her way as soon as she finishes dinner."
"Good. Where's Will?"
"Hunting for another date, I think."
124. As Lynne sat down, Rupert began to talk.
"See, things are kind of crazy back home, and our family is the only one that can make it better. Will and Fred and I
will all be doing our parts, but one of us will be completely committed to helping fix it, including raising our children
to do more of the work."
125. "It's hard work," Fred said, "and involves some hardships. On the other hand, the one of us who becomes heir -
who's devoted to helping - can get married immediately, instead of waiting until the work is over. There's good sides
and bad sides."
126. "So we decided that we should talk to you guys about this, since it's not just up to us. This is fixing the world, and
you deserve a say."
Lynne bit her lip.
127. Then she turned to Rupert. "What exactly do you mean by 'fixing the world'?"
128. "Well, that's the thing. Every time someone in our family reaches the top of their career, things get better. Grandpa
became a Rock God, and the winter ended. Grandma became a Mad Scientist, and brought back electricity and Smart
Milk. Dad became a General and opened the roads, then Mom became a Celebrity Chef and brought back food. Anya's
fixed the schools as Education Minister, and Willow found Jumbok and the maps to Lihue."
129. Fred spoke up. "We're hoping one of us can get rid of the ghosts soon, though that'll probably be me or Rupert or
Will."
131. “And I'm a Business Tycoon," Lynne said. "Which of those would be better for the family?"
Fred and Rupert exchanged glances.
132. "Business Tycoon," Fred said. "Grandma was a Mad Scientist, so you'd have to change jobs to help, Armando, and
then you'd probably be entry-level. No one's been in Business, yet."
133. "You don't sound too enthusiastic about this, Rupert," Lynne said. "I'm willing, but do you want to be heir?"
134. "Well, that's the thing. Neither Fred nor I is sure. I don't mind the work, and I'd love to marry you as soon as
possible, but I don't know how many kids I want to have, and the heir has to have a lot."
135. "Same here - with the kids thing. I don't know how many I want. I used to want three, but now I'm not sure."
She turned to Armando. "What do you want?"
---
Fred had a lifetime want by the time she was a kid - it was graduate three kids from college. I have since changed it
to a more Popularity-appropriate aspiration - Media Magnate - using the ReNuYuSenso Orb.
136. "Well, I want friends. I'm a Popularity Sim, after all. I'd like a kid or two, but not more than two. And I want to be
Captain Hero."
138. "And I want money - Fortune Sim here," Lynne said. "And to become a Hall of Famer, but that's secondary."
139. "As do I," said Rupert. "Well, the money part. I'd really like to make $100,000."
140. "Well, if you don't mind waiting, I don't mind moving out when I'm done helping," Fred said.
Armando nodded. "I'll definitely wait. Stay living with the rest of the Garden Club. Not that we have much to do, since
the plants still aren't growing."
141. "I guess it's settled then," Lynne said. "Rupert is heir, I'm moving in as soon as I can, and we're earning as much
money as humanly possible."
"Sounds like a plan," Rupert said.
142. Then he pulled Lynne into his arms. "I love you, you know."
"I do. And I love you too."
143. Fred decided that that looked like a good plan, so she pulled Armando over. "Kissing now?"
"Kissing now."
Will looked up from the pinball machine. "Good to know that's solved. Now I want another date."
144. And, in fact, he got one, with Talin Vijayakar here.
145. "That went well, don't you think?" Fred asked as Rupert finished his late night snack.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Nervous?"
"Yes, but glad I get to marry Lynne immediately."
"Somehow I'm not surprised."
146. Late that night - almost into morning - they returned to the hotel. Fred and Armando enjoyed some woohoo, then
went to sleep.
154. "Did you have a good vacation, Sir?"
"We did, thanks."
"Very good."
155. And, when they returned, lots of people stopped by to give date flowers, all of which were immediately stuffed into
Inventory.
Oddly, vacationers will bring gifts, but not come to visit. Sometimes the coding is odd.
156. When they got back from vacation, life went on.
"Last assignment!"
"Ready to graduate?"
"Yup."
And so they did.
All three of them graduated with honors.
157. They spent the last three days at UC Sunnydale doing various things. Rupert maxed his Cleaning skill.
159. They all also worked on Charisma and Creativity, even with the Cow Mascot in the bathroom.
160. And Fred also rolled wants to make friends. Sometimes she argued a bit too much, though.
161. On their last day, they invited Nessarose Avalon to move in with them.
"Excited to placehold?"
"Yup! Though babies would be nice. You know, when I graduate."
162. Fred and Will made the time for one last pillow fight, while Nessarose fit right in by joining the dancing craze.
163. And they spent their last hours on campus having a full house waterballoon fight.
164. Then college was over, and they grew up, all in pajamas, much as they had lived.
Somehow, the Slob pajamas suited Will. His two Neat points do show through.
165. Fred, on the other hand, grew up into exactly the same nightgown as she had lived in for all of college,
167. Then, as they headed back home, Nessarose went to bed in her new home.
168. "Okay, this outfit kind of sucks."
"It's not horrible."
"It's not ME." Fred looked behind her. "The boys got better ones this time."
"Yeah," I said, breathing a sigh of relief, "that they did."
169. As soon as he could, Will headed upstairs to look for jobs.
Unfortunately, there was nothing useful.
"Science, Culinary, Politics, Slacker, Music...there's nothing good here. Shoot. I wanted to move out soon."
"Paper?"
"I can't find it. I think someone must have recycled it this morning."
"Well, there'll be another one tomorrow."
"Thank God."
170. As it was Tuesday, Fred invited Armando over (they're singing the sea chantey in the background) and Rupert invited
Lynne over.
171. Then, standing on the front lawn, they vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives.
Lynne was very excited to move into a family with so much money. Rupert wished he'd been able to do the same.
172. For some reason, Will got upset at the wedding. I'm not entirely certain why.
173. “What are you up to?”
"Moving out!"
"Oh?"
"I topped my career, Anya topped her career, and both cats have topped their careers. We can all move out."
"Uh, I hope you're not taking both cats."
"Oh, no. Just Kim."
"Good."
174. "Uh, where is everyone?"
"Oh, they turned invisible. Our taxis are odd, you know."
"...Right. But you'll bring them safely to their new home?"
"Will do!"

175. As you can see, I chose Rupert as heir, with Lynne as his spouse. I know some people were wishing for Fred as heir,
but Rupert has actually been heir since he was a toddler and I knew his personality/aspiration.
At that point in time, I had six gen three sims - and Xander wasn't eligible. I also didn't know if I'd be able to send
the kids to college at all, and in fact, it took a lot of work to get them there at all. So I needed a spouse with a good
job. Lynne, as a Business Tycoon, was absolutely my number one choice; in fact, she'd been a possibility when I was
spouse-hunting for Joss.
So I ended up basing the heir choice around the spouse choice. My universe does not allow homosexual couples to
reproduce, for one very specific reason: Medical restricts birth control. Sims MUST try for baby if it's possible.
Therefore, sims who prefer the same gender? Don't have to try for baby. Which is allowing me to let Willow woohoo
whoever she wants without cheating. Well, without cheating on the rules. She cheats on other sims all the time.
176. At that point, I had two choices: Rupert and Will. Both had pre-rolled Pleasure, which I was not hugely enthusiastic
about, but which I also had to live with. Therefore, it came down to personality.
Rupert is 10/3/10/4/2. Will began life as 2/3/5/9/6, but has been Encouraged down to 7 Playful. However, the genetic
personality is what matters for passing down traits to kids. Neatness = very important in making sure sims actually
enjoy cleaning, as well as getting clean faster via the sink. Seriousness = even more important, since having fun is
not always the easiest thing to do in an Apocalypse. The differences in Activeness and Niceness didn't matter quite so
much, though I do prefer both Active and Nice.
But, mostly because of the Neatness and the Seriousness, Rupert was automatically appointed heir.
177. As you probably noticed during this chapter, I did end up changing Rupert's aspiration to Fortune. I was not able to
do that when he was born: Education restricts aspiration changes. After Anya lifted Education, however, it became
possible.
I didn't think of it immediately. Actually, the first use I thought of for aspiration changes was the one I used in
Chapter Seven: Cheesing the boys to get them Gold enough to take Elixir so that they could go to college. But from
that thought, came the idea to change Rupert's aspiration. He never seemed very happy as a Pleasure Sim, especially
without dates, and he rolled what I consider the Fortune Sim version of a Pleasure Sim's wants: buying Pleasure-
related things and Freestyling for Tips.
Therefore, when sophomore year ended, and the option to change aspiration came up, I changed Rupert's.
178. Also, I sent the sims on vacation. You probably noticed that I didn't obey restrictions while on vacation. That's
because it's not required!
Of course, three restrictions have to be lifted to send sims on vacation in the first place - Music (for the weather),
Science (for the airplanes), and Military (to leave the lot). Another restriction must be lifted to open each type of
vacation destination - I just lifted Adventurer, which opens Island destinations. Also, going on vacation counts as
missing work for Slacker restrictions, and the Law Enforcement body point restrictions are still in force for leaving the
lot.
So it's not easy to get sims there, but once there, you can do what you want.
And getting Will a couple of dates? Sounded like an excellent idea. Plus, showers. I did consider changing clothing
while there, but realized that they were going so late that they'd soon be growing up, and that they'd have new
clothing then anyway.
Thank God we got better clothing as adults.
179. By the way, I do like Armando, especially for Fred. But we've already lifted Science, so he wasn't ever a spouse
option. One of the reasons she was allowed to have him.
Current restrictions lifted:
Hopelessness (Joss) Music (Joss)
Alien Tech (Liam) Science (Eloise)
Military (Martin)
Pet Showbiz (Kobe) Culinary (Buffy)
Service (Kim) Education (Anya)
Adventurer (Willow)
Business (Lynne)
180. Also, I think I may have played a bit too much on my break. College took me ten days to complete, which is, oh,
three or four months less than it took when I played through it with Joss.
Yeah.
