Objective: Seeking a full time position in the area of software development and engineering.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
I have around 5 years of industrial experience in development of standalone applications (JAVA) and
web based applications (Tomcat & JSF) and database centric applications for Sybase IQ, Vertica and
Postgres databases. Perl and Python have been my languages of choice for scripting. As part of my
master’s curriculum I worked extensively on development of mobile applications. I have a strong hold
and hands on experience on agile methodologies and Scrum.
I am currently working on creation of business dashboards using QlikView, Pentaho, and Vertica
DB in the role of an intern at Hewlett-Packard Vertica.

Partners Engineering Intern Hewlett-Packard - Vertica May 2015-Aug 2015
 Designed and implemented a Business Dashboard and ETL layer for product support data from Salesforce with
Analytics capability.
 The data extracted and processed is stored in a schema amenable to ad-hoc analytics. Vertica is used as the
underlying database and QlikView is used to build the business dashboards.
 This implementation provides Engineering and Support teams with actionable insights which is otherwise not
easily recognizable. This enables better product quality, customer experience and business decisions.

Senior Software Designer Hewlett-Packard July 2012-Aug 2014
 Developed a Perl based automation tool to collect and analyze product troubleshooting information from log
files, running process and database for product support teams. The tool also provided a HTML report created
using Java that parses and creates intuitive reports from the collected data. It reduced the turnaround time for
customer reported issues by 40%. [Java, Perl].
 Idea-ted: Designed a new intuitive user interface to visualize product run time and data stored in the data
warehouse for a Business Intelligence product. The idea was born from real usability issues on data
visualization reported by customers. The new user interface was user friendly and was widely accepted by the

 Implemented high availability support for a Business Intelligence product. The solution developed on top of
Veritas cluster addressed this requirement. [Java, Sybase IQ, Postgres DB, Veritas Cluster].
 Lead and drove the implementation of agile practices within the team based on Scrum methodology. In the role
of Scrum Master I could define the finer details of execution process and create a planning and communication
platform that significantly reduced project over run and communication gaps with stake holders [Scrum].

2. Software Designer Hewlett-Packard Dec 2009-June 2012
 Designed and implemented product administration user interface for a Business Intelligence product.
The Web based interface created using Rich Faces (JSF implementation) running on Tomcat provided
the single umbrella interface for all administration and product run time visualization tasks [JSF,
Tomcat, Java, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript].
 Enhanced a Business Intelligence product to use Vertica DB for the warehouse and Postgres DB for
product run-time dictionary. [Vertica DB, Oracle, Postgres, My SQL].
 Developed a product unit test Perl based automation suite for higher quality delivery to QA team. The
tool regressed with different data sets tested the input/output of different modules in an automated
manner. This solution reduced the effort of manual testing and defect escape rate from development
team to QA and helped reduce the over project cost. [Perl].

IOS mobile application to study human eye and diagnosis of anomalies for Mayo Clinic
 Developed a mobile application on IOS platform to enable and simplify the study of the human eye.
The principles of software engineering are applied in each phase of the project. The project is about
creating a solution for clinical physicians focused on study of human eye and diagnosis of anomalies
through visual inspection [IOS, Objective C].
Multi-model interaction system for center stack of Eco Car
 Developed a multi-model interaction system to create a working prototype for the dashboard having
text, speech and touch models to interact with the car system which could be integrated with the actual
car hardware in the future.[Android, Dragon]
Construction of new Programming Language: Canyon
 Developed a new imperative Programming Language called “Canyon”. Created Abstract syntax trees
to support new syntax for the language along with compiler, and run-time binaries to execute the
programs written using Canyon.[C++ , Java]
Tic-Tac-Toe application with two player feature on Bluetooth
 Developed a game which would be played over a game space that would basically be shared between
the two players via the Bluetooth. The application will use Bluetooth/Bluetooth LE as its backbone in
mirroring the arena for the game.[Android]

