3.  Dąbrowa Górnicza is located in the Silesion Voivodeship,
 Dąbrowa Górnicza is the largest city of the province and the 9th largest in Poland in terms of territory, with total
area of 188 square kilometers,
 Dąbrowa Górnicza borders Będzin County, Zawiercie County, Olkusz County and the city of Sosnowiec,
 The place name Dąbrowa, is derived from the Polish word dąb (oak), and denotes an oak grove, as the territory of
the original village is believed to have been covered by oak forests back in the early days of its existence. From the
19th century, the settlement grew to be an important coal mining center, and its name was supplemented by
the adjective Górnicza, which refers to mining, in 1919.

5. This park was created in 1932. It is located near the
Pogoria lake. The park offers various ways of
spending spare time for families.

6. Haller park is located in the center of Dąbrowa Górnicza.
The park is a perfect place for children. They can play at the
biggest playground in the city.

7. The Błędów Desert attracts visitors from different
countries. This Desert took name from Błędów (district
of Dąbrowa Górnicza) but It is also called Polish Sahara.
Natural environment consists of 350 three houndred
fifty plant species and over 150 one hundred fifty animal
species. According to legend, the desert was created by
the Devil.

8. ZAGŁĘBIE PALACE
OF CULTURE
This monument was built in 1958
and it was renovated in 2014.
The building is a social
realism monument.
The basic function of the Palace
is to offer the inhabitants of the
city and the region many
different forms of art and
culture.
Inside the Palace there is a
large theather hall, a cinema,
an art gallery, a banquett hall
and two conference rooms.

9. The Basilica was built in neo-Gothic style,
designed by Joseph Pomian-Pomianowski at
the turn of the 19th and the 20th century.

10. Water park complex, located in Haller Park. It has
numerous recreational pools, sports and outdoor
swimming pool, water slides, passages, sauna and salt
cave. In addition, there are gastronomic restaurants and
bars.

There are a number of sport objects in Dąbrowa
Górnicza, for example: sport hall, beach volleyball
courts, tennis courts and a climbing wall.

Everyone who has a sailing license can rent a
sailing boat.
