by them to Cummins Customers. The Policy Request System is an internet based version which is based
on the J2EE technology and is available on World Wide Web. This system is more beneficial for the dealers
and distributors as they can file requests themselves.
Global Quotes (GSQ)
Project Description: Providing reliable, accurate quotes to customers worldwide before the repair of
equipment is undertaken is a critical aspect of the repair event and its cycle time. Furthermore, an accurate
and timely quote has been proven to keep repair event cycle time to an optimum. The Global Standard
Quotes (GSQ) project will provide suggested global standard quotes for warranty and non-warranty repairs,
based on paid claims information in the Warranty data mart. User can also create a Diagnostic Quote only
for the engines which are released in the future.
Cummins Brazil Warranty (CBL)
Project Description: Cummins Brazil Warranty is an internet based claim filing system which is used by
Cummins dealers and distributors in Brazil to file the claims for the services provided by them to Cummins
customers. This is an internet based which is based on the J2EE technology and is available on World Wide
Web. This system is more beneficial for the dealers and distributors as they can file claims themselves.
The Brazil Warranty process utilizes the 4 C’s (Complaint, Cause, Coverage and Correction) outlined in the
Warranty Administration Manual. The main purpose of CBL is to improve the administration of Cummins
warranty in order to save the customer and the repairing locations both time and money.
The Brazil Warranty system is to be used for all Cummins New Engine Warranty, ReCon Warranty.
The process starts with engine failure, whenever Cummins customer encounter problems or concerns with a
Cummins engine they approach to Dealers / Distributors and authorized service centers for repair. If the
paid customer phone service facility is available then they can get service through phone. After the
completion of repair work of the engine that is under warranty, the service provider claims to
Cummins to reimburse charges spent for repair work.
Standard repaired time (SRT)
Project Description: Standard Repair Times (SRT) / System Accessibility Rating (SAR) system maintains the
standard repair time data for various Cummins’ Engines. A SRT is defined as the time required to perform a
4. quality repair on a Cummins engine, by an average technician using the prescribed hand tools, equipment
and all available service tools. These times are used both as guidelines for the preparation of job plans by
repair locations and for Warranty reimbursements by Cummins Inc. The standard time of a repair operation
is based on several factors like the operation to be performed and the equipment type the engine resides in.
SAR system measures the complexity of access for a specific operation based on the equipment type.
Failure Issue Tracking System (FITS)
Project Description: FITS is a web based centralized system which tracks the failure part flow from its
failure location to its analysis. This is fail code driven application, which imports claims from the PBI
database system and allows Component engineers and Suppliers and other service engineers to analyze
the failed part.
FITS mainly pulls a data from different database systems and responsible for part supplier and part issue
analysis.–
• Import Sourcing manager, part data from GPS parts database.
• Import supplier related information from GPS database.
• There should be sourcing manager associated with a claim fetched from BI system.
• Import Engine related data from Reliability
Trading Partner Database (TPDB)
Project Description: Trading Partner Database (TPDB) is an application for making the suppliers EDI
(Electronic Data Interchange) compliant. These EDI compliant suppliers are also called as trading partners.
TPDB application is for the E commerce (Ecom) users of the EBU supply chain management and the suppliers
do not have access to the site directly; they operate with the help of Ecom users.
The application TPDB (Trading Partners Database) is used by the Cummins E-commerce team to create and
maintain information on Cummins Inc. trading partners. The Ecommerce users can view, update, delete and
add profile of the trading partners. The application has the capability to format this data into an XML file,
which is pushed to the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and used to create the message envelope
for various (EDI) messages with the trading partners.
Campaign Online Tracking and Notification (COTN)
COTN - the abbreviation for Campaign Online Tracking and Notification. The primary purpose of the
system is to track campaigns involving notification letters to customers.
Reducing the number of manual activities
Periodical refresh of Distributor Data from Worldwide Service Provider System(WWSPS)
User friendly interfaces with which the Campaign Administrator can search for campaign(s)
Generation of mailing lists based on geographical location
