B. Review
Teacher will ask students for the previous topic that was
discussed.
C. Motivation
1. Ask the pupils to count 1 to 100 using the number chart Activity.
2. Teacher will ask the students:
a) What is the least number? (The least number is 1.)
b) What is the greatest number? (The greatest number is
100.)
D. Activity
1. Group the class by rows
2. Introduce the Board Game Count My Candies Game
3. Distribute board game to each group. Ask students to quietly
count the candies. Time the class in this activity. The group with lesser
time to correctly count the cards wins the game.

Teacher Guide Question:
1. What have you notice in your activity?
2. How many number of cadies per circle?
3. What have you notice with the number of candies?
4. What is our topic for today?
Our topic for today is all about skip counting by 5.
F. Abstraction
1. Teacher will ask: How many candies in all we have in the board
game? (There are 100 candies.)
2. What did you do to find the answer? (Pupils explain how they
counted the candies.)
a) Teacher will lead the pupils to count the candies by 5’s.
b) Teacher will count the candies from first circle going to
next circle up to the last circle in the board game.
(1) Write the numbers on the board in this way: 5 10
15 20 25 30
(2) Before counting the next circle of candies, teacher
will ask the pupils to guess the next number of candies.
Continue the process until they see the pattern. When all
candies in the board game are counted (individually at
first, then by 5’s), focus the pupils’ attention on the
numbers on the board.
c) Let them read the numbers: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40,
45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100.
d) Tell the pupils that they are counting by 5.
G. Generalization
How do we skip count by 5? (We skip count by 5 when we start with a
number and then add 5 each time to the resulting number to get the
next number.)
