The world was changing so quickly that this poem was representing the use of Imagery in the
Fog and Cat. The Fog and Cat are one in the same as they quietly sneak up on you before you
know it and disappear just as quickly and silently.
The times of this period were also changing. People were losing their jobs.
The American way of living was changing and war was breaking out.
This poem represents the problems people faced during the early 20th century.
Although stressful, it to shall pass as silently as the Fog and Cat.

3. This poem represents the popular imagist movement happening during the early 20th century. The poet wanted
to showcase the red wheelbarrow as the American Dream. People of the early 20th century worked extremely
hard to make ends meet. The wheelbarrow represented an important role in farming. Farmers depended upon
their equipment to work so they can support their families. Rain water and chickens represent the hours of hard
labor people went through to earn a living because they woke up at the crack of dawn to make sure their
families were taken care of.
