- We aren’t teaching for a PhD in the ivy-covered towers… we are preparing students for their economic livelihoods. (Yale campus)

- What will students think of you in their worklife, not just as students?
- Safe-failures in an educational setting, stretch their wings!
- No stats for this, just a general sense
- Some will go bankrupt, others are just given up as the wrong idea, or wrong time, or the founder loses interest
- Give them the key skills
- Many schools spend half the teaching schedule in general business courses (which are of course useful)
- But …
- Do we confuse success on a classroom test with preparation for success beyond the classroom?
- How are we empowering our students with these necessary skills?

- Should we be “teaching” (lecturing) or finding other ways for learners to learn? Experiential learning may be more valuable… I don’t mean “case studies”.

- How will you know success if you don’t set goals?
- You probably know that Bill Gates was a university drop-out. But he saw a future, and pursued it. To be sure, startups need managerial skills.
