6. Why “Hypnotizing Chickens”?
Sunday, January 6, 2013
A PowerPoint diagram meant to portray the complexity of American strategy in Afghanistan certainly succeeded in that aim.
The United States military holds press conferences with 20 minutes of intentionally dull PowerPoint presentations and 5 minutes left at the end for questions from anyone who is
still awake. The presentations are called hypnotizing chickens.

Retired Marine Colonel Thomas X. Hammes says that this effect, which he calls “hypnotizing chickens”, is useful when the goal is to avoid divulging information, as in military
press briefings.[26]

Many school divisions have requested that Manitoba Education develop a workshop that examines the approaches to and benefits

needs identified by teams of educators by allocating human resources based on the needs identified.
A workshop intented for school teams who are interested in introducing and developing co-teaching practices in the classroom
178. What are the outcomes for this
Co-Teaching?
Participants at this workshop will:
• Know the 6 approaches within co-
teaching
• Acquire some hands on strategies related
to the 6 approaches
• Apply the acquired knowledge to begin to
plan a co-teaching lesson
Sunday, January 6, 2013
Have opportunities to share though out the
day
179. The Philosophy of Inclusion
• Inclusion is a way of thinking and acting that allows every
individual to feel accepted, valued and safe. An inclusive
community consciously evolves to meet the changing needs of its
members. Through recognition and support, an inclusive community
provides meaningful involvement and equal access to the benefits of
citizenship.
• In Manitoba we embrace inclusion as a means of enhancing the
well-being of every member of the community. By working
together, we strengthen our capacity to provide the foundation for a
richer future for all of us.
