The local craft industry, a treasure of our
country, and the chief contributors for this
industry are local rural village artisans.
The art of the craft is continued by the
same set of generation as a profession
whereas these products are represented
as rich heritage of our country. Due to
the advancement of technology in this
21st century and giving out the same set
of products generation to generation has
made it a monotonous situation for the
local craft community so these products
has less demand and loses its position.
The aim of this project is to give a cutting
edge market to the local craft industry,
which might help to raise the rural
artisan’s economy level. To recover from
the above mentioned state this project
has been proposed, so the demand of
these products may develop and would
protect from the abolishment of this
profession.
ABOUTPROJECT

understand the idea inside the space in a better-way, developed physical foam.

16. “Wedding Dream” is a designer bridal
retail store which is situated in the heart
of the Colombo city Srilanka.
Our two member team faced a chal-
lenge to change idea of the space. we
worked in a reversed way to produce a
studio space.
We conducted a site
analysis and interviewed client about
their hopes for the customers. We
used that research to create a design
which would engage the
community, bring in visitors, and
emphasize social interaction.
The team began by playing with emana-
tions and reflections of light from the
building. Through our arrangement, we
extended existing patterns of light onto
the grounds,creating a comfort and
inviting space for customers.
