We are in the middle of 2013 and the 2nd
Quarter passed by already.
I like to inform you that GE Distributed
Power awarded us for making the
biggest deal of GE Jenbacher gas
engines! Receiving this recognition
should make us feel proud and shows
that we are on the right track.
Our company steadily grows and now
employees 530 people. 480 in Indonesia
and 50 in Thailand, Singapore and
Myanmar. With this growth it is natural
that new challenges appear. How can
we still think and act as ONE team is
one of them. It is imperative that we all
understand that each and everyone is a
link in a chain of success.
Delivering our promise to clients and
our investors is only possible if we work
together as a team with a positive and
constructive spirit!
Please read the interview with our new

Safety and Environment) department.
Besides having the best and consistent
quality of our projects on our mind we
also focus on health and safety issues
and what we can do to protect the
environment.

Kita telah berada di pertengahan
tahun 2013 dan kita telah melalu kuartal
kedua dengan sukses. Saya ingin
menginformasikan bahwa kita telah
diberikan penghargaan oleh GE Distributed
Power sebagai perusahaan yang telah
berhasil mendapatkan kesepakatan
tunggal terbesar oleh GE Jenbacher.
Dengan adanya pengakuan yang kita
dapat sudah seharusnya hal ini membuat
kita merasa bangga dan menunjukan
bahwa kita sudah berada di jalan yang
benar.
Perusahaan kita terus bertumbuh dengan
stabil dan sekarang telah memiliki 530
pekerja. 480 di Indonesia dan 50 di
Thailand, Singapore dan Myanmar.
Dengan pertumbuhan ini sudah dapat
dipastikan bahwa akan ada tantangan-
tantangan baru bermunculan. Bagaimana
kita dapat berfikir dan bertindak sebagai
satu tim adalah salah satunya. Adalah
penting bagi kita semua untuk mengerti
bahwa semua yang bekerja disini
merupakan rantai yang berhubungan
satu dengan yang lainnya untuk menuju
kesusksesan.
Meningkatkan kualitas dalam produk dan
pelayanaan adalah tujuan yang hanya
kita bisa capai dengan bekerja bersama
sebagai satu tim yang memiliki semangat
yang positif dan membangun!
Harap dibaca wawancara dengan

Throughout 2013 employees of the
Navigat Group will undergo a series
of training programs, one of them
a Fire Fighter Training or is well known
as a K3 training. The training took place
at Pop! Hotel BSD, Tangerang from 16th
September – 20th September 2013. This
one-week training consisted of both
theory and practice. The practice took
place in one of Pertamina’s training
center in Pelumpang, West Jakarta.
The training was organized by PT. Global
Safety Power and also supported
by the Ministry of Manpower and
Transmigration. This particular training
was meant to send a message
that the Navigat Group is already
applying for the QHSE for its employee.
Di sepanjang tahun 2013 para
pekerja dari Navigat Group akan
melaksanakan serangkaian program
pembinaan dan telah dimulai dengan
pembinaan untuk pemadam kebakaran
atau yang lebih dikenal dengan
program pembinaan K3. Pembinaan
tersebut dilaksanakan di Pop! Hotel di
BSD pada tanggal 16-20 September
2013. Pembinaan yang dilaksanakan
selama satu minggu ini terdiri dari
pemberian materi teori dan juga
praktek. Praktek pelatihan dilaksanan
di salah satu pusat pelatihan oleh
Pertamina di Pelumpang, Jakarta Barat.
Program pembinaan ini diatur oleh PT.
Global Safety Power dan juga didukung
oleh Departement Tenaga Kerja dan
Transmigrasi. Pembinaan ini dilaksanakan
untuk memberikan pesan bahwa
Navigat Group telah mengaplikasikan
QHSE untuk para pekerjanya. Para

Training
The participants came from every
power plant site that Navigat has in
Indonesia. This event is one of the QHSE
department’s plans in standardizing the
managing system encompassing quality,
health, safety and environment aspects,
the first certified event that Navigat
Group ever conducted. By the end
of the training, the participants will get
a Fire Fighter license class C which is one
of the absolute requirements for ones
company to pass the certification audit
of OSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
In 2014, the QHSE department is aiming
to nurture the program, assuring
the competency of all employees
from the Navigat Group.

Pada tahun 2014, Departemen QHSE
bertujuan untuk memelihara program
yang telah ada untuk memastikan
bahwa seluruh karyawan Navigat Group
berkompeten di dalam bidangnya
masing-masing.

Renewable Energy
Indonesia 2013
In 2013, Navigat Energy had been
participating in more than 10 exhibitions
in Indonesia and abroad. One of them
is the Electric, Power & Renewable Energy
Indonesia 2013 that was held at the
Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran
from 4th to 7th September 2013.
The fair is an important meeting point
for all companies dealing with power
generation, power transmission and
distribution and renewable energies. And
in this particular event, we presented
ourselves with one of the biggest booths
that we have ever made.
Di tahun 2013, Navigat Energy telah
berpartisipasi di lebih dari 10 eksibisi di
Indonesia dan mancanegara. Salah satunya
adalah di Electric, Power & Renewable Energy
Indonesia 2013 yang diselengarakan di Jakarta
International Expo Kemayoran dari tangga 4-7
September 2013.
Pameran ini adalah titik temu penting untuk
semua perusahaan yang berhubungan
dengan pembangkit listrik, transmisi dan
distribusi listrik serta energi yang dapat
diperbaharui. Dan dalam kesempatan kali ini,
kita mempresentasikan diri dengan salah satu
booth terbesar yang pernah kita buat.

INDORENERGY
2013On the 3rd -5th July 2013,
Navigat Energy participated in
INDORENERGY 2013 event that took
place in Jakarta Convention Center
(JCC). This event is one of the most
prestigious events in the industry
of renewable energy resources in
Indonesia.
The Ministry of Industry, The Ministry
of Trade, Ministry of Environment and
Indonesian Exhibition Companies
Associations (IECA) supported this event.
The main aim of this event was to attract
public attention to the practical benefits
from renewable energy sources and the
different means to save energy.
Here Navigat Energy booth won 3rd
place on the Best Stand Design.
This is possible because of the solid
teamwork that we have and also the
help of our Event Organizer partner.

Pada tanggal 3-5 Juli 2013, Navigat
Energy berpartisiasi di dalam
pameran INDORENERGY 2013 yang
bertempat di Jakarta Convention Center
(JCC). Acara ini adalah salah satu dari
pameran terbesar dan terbaik di dalam
industri sumber energi yang dapat
diperbaharui di Indonesia.
Departemen Industri, Departemen
Perdagangan, Departemen Lingkungan
dan Indonesian Exhibition Companies
Associations (IECA) turut medukung
kelangsungan pameran tersebut. Tujuan
utama dari pameran ini adalah untuk
menarik perhatian masyarakat kepada
keuntungan praktis dari sumber daya
energi yang dapat diperbaharui dan
juga kepada berbagai macam cara
untuk menghemat pengunaan energi.
Dalam kesempatan ini booth
dari Navigat Energy mendapatkan
penghargaan Best Stand Design diurutan
ke-3. Hal ini dapat terjadi dikarenakan
kerja sama tim yang solid dan juga
dengan bantuan dari mitra Event
organizer kita.

Finance & Accounting Gathering
NAVIGAT energy
It was on an evening, on July 17th
2013, when Navigator saw happy
faces in Navigat Group’s Finance
and Accounting department. There
was a reason for this. The reason
was that they have been rewarded
by the company to have a nice
dinner gathering for their successful
completion in auditing the 2012
financial report.
The gathering began with the whole
team watching a movie together
at Platinum XXI at FX, Senayan. It
continued with a dinner for the whole
team at Tartine.
Before dinner, Mr. Arnold Hendriks had
a brief presentation about Navigat
group. It was a very motivational
presentation, which was meant to
build more confidence and love
towards Navigat Group. The power
point presentation showed that
without being passionate about our
work and having perseverance we
couldn’t succeed. It also showed how
Navigat Group has been growing
into a very powerful multinational
company and continues to become

acara makan malam sebagai
apresiasi dari penyelesaian yang
sukses dari proses audit untuk laporan
finansial tahun 2012.
Acara dimulai dengan menonton film
di Platinum XXI di FX bersama-sama.
Lalu acara dilanjutkan dengan makan
malam bersama di Tartine.
Sebelum makan malam dimulai,
sebuah presentasi singkat
disampaikan oleh Mr. Arnold Hendriks.
Presentasi yang sangat memotivasi
itu dimaksudkan untuk membangun
tingkat kepercayaan diri dan cinta
terhadap Navigat Grup. Presentasi
power point tersebut menunjukan
bahwa kita tidak akan sukses
apabila kita tidak memiliki semangat
yang tinggi akan pekerjaan kita
dan kita tidak memiliki ketekunan
dalam bekerja. Presentasi ini juga

Each department needs to work in
a cohesive nature in order to make
the company excelling in every single
project that they do.
After dinner, the team had prepared
an awarding segment amongst
themselves. The winner of each
category was awarded with a
“token of appreciation”. Some of the
categories were “The Most On Time”,
“The Most Neat” and “The One That
Always Go Home Late”.
The event continued with some of
the employees showing their skills in
singing and playing instruments also
cracking jokes.
Throughout the night Navigator
could witness the closeness of each
and every one that works within
the company. Both employee and
employer gathered together and
spent the night in an atmosphere that
others might be envy about.

penghargaan. Katergori-kategori
yang ada seperti “Yang selalu tepat
waktu”, “Yang terapih” dan “Yang
selalu pulang paling akhir”.
Acara berlanjut dengan beberapa
pekerja menunjukan kebolehan
mereka dalam bernyayi dan
memainkan alat musik juga
kebolehan mereka dalam
memberikan lelucon.
Sepanjang malam Navigator dapat
melihat kedekatan di antara para
pekerja. Baik atasan dan bawahan
berkumpul bersama dan melewatkan
malam dengan suasana yang hangat
dimana mungkin banyak yang akan
cemburu dengan kedekatan yang
mereka tunjukkan.

Breakfasting with
NAVIGAT group
To celebrate the fasting month,
Navigat Group had a breakfasting
event at Plaza Senayan on the 29th
of July 2013. Around 200 employees
came to this gathering, which started
with watching a movie together in the
cinema.
After watching the movie, all went to
“Diagonale Bar & Restaurant” welcomed
by mouthwatering meals. A very warm
ambiance could be felt when Navigator
entered the venue.
A speech was held by Pak Atul Agarwal,
“Country Managing Director” of Navigat
Group, to welcome all employees. The
event continued with games that have
already been prepared with prices for
the winner of each game, plus there
were three door prizes. The prizes varied
from vouchers to home theater.
Untuk merayakan bulan suci
Ramadhan, Navigat Group
menyelenggarakan acara buka puasa
bersama di Plaza Senayan pada tanggal
29 July 2013. Sekitar 200 karyawan
datang ke acara tersebut dimana acara
ini dimulai dengan nonton bersama di
bioskop.
Setelah menonton bersama, para
karyawan pergi ke Diagonale Bar &
Restaurant dimana santapan malam
telah menunggu. Suasana yang hangat
bisa dirasakan pada saat Navigator
memasuki ruangan.
Kata sambutan diberikan oleh Bapak
Atul Argawal selaku Country Managing
Director dari Navigat Group untuk
menyambut para karyawan. Acara
dilanjutkan dengan permainan yang
telah disiapkan dengan hadiah untuk
para pemenang disetiap permainan,
juga disediakan tiga buah hadiah
kejutan (door prize). Hadiah yang
disediakan bervariasi dari voucher
belanja hingga seperangkat home
theater.
Surprisingly, there were some hidden
talents amongst the employees.
Mr. Atul and Mr. Oliver sang songs with
their soothing voices. Some of the
employees showed a very confident
personality when they were asked to
perform rather funny gestures by the MC
to win the prizes.
Laughter could be heard from all corners
of the venue. Smiling faces could be
seen in each and everyone that came.
All stress and hardship that everyone
might have felt from working earlier that
day, vanished into thin air.
The gathering ended with a door prize
segment where three of Navigat group’s
lucky employees were going home with
Rice Cooker, Blender and Home Theater.
Sangat mengejutkan bahwa diantara para
karyawan terdapat beberapa talenta
yang tersembunyi. Pak Atul dan Mr. Oliver
menyanyikan lagu-lagu dengan suara
mereka yang merdu. Beberapa dari para
karyawan mempertunjukan kepribadian
yang sangat percaya diri ketika mereka
diminta untuk melakukan gerakan-gerakan
yang lucu oleh MC untuk memenangkan
hadiah-hadiah tersebut.
Canda tawa dapat didengar dari seluruh
ruangan. Muka-muka penuh senyum dapat
dilihat dari semua yang hadir. Semua
stres dan kesulitan yang mungkin dialami
sebelumnya pada saat jam bekerja hilang
dan digantikan dengan kegembiraan.
Acara ini diakhiri dengan pemberian
hadiah kejutan dimana tiga dari karyawan
yang beruntung membawa pulang rice
cooker, blender dan home teather.

Pada tanggal 21-30 Juli 2013, Navigator
mendampingi MMSDREAMteam
dalam perjalanan pengambilan gambar
untuk Navigat Group, Navigat Energy
dan MaxPower corporate movie terbaru.
Pengambilan gambar dimulai di kota
Palembang dimana Navigat memiliki
pembangkit tenaga listrik di daerah
Borang. Pengambilan gambar dilakukan
sehari penuh oleh MMS dimana
pengambilan gambar ini mencakup
pengambilan gambar dari udara (Aerial
shoot) yang dapat menunjukan seluruh
tampilan situs.
Pada hari berikutnya, kami melanjutkan
perjalanan kami ke kota Batam dimana
Navigat memiliki beberapa pembangkit
tenaga listrik. MMS memfokuskan
pengambilan gambar di area PT. Tunas
dan di Megamall Batam.
Perjalanan terus berlanjut ke kota
berikutnya di jadwal kami. Kami pergi
ke Medan dimana MMS mengambil
gambar baik dari darat dan udara di
Belawan. Dengan tidak membuang
waktu, tim pun terbang ke Jambi
From July 21st -30th, 2013, Navigator
accompanied MMS DREAMteam on
a journey shooting for the new corporate
movies for Navigat Group, Navigat
Energy and MaxPower. The shoot began
in Palembang where Navigat has a
power plant in Borang. MMS shot for the
whole day including an aerial shoot,
which shows a whole view of the site.
On the next day, we continued our
journey to Batam where Navigat has
several power plants. MMS focused
on shooting PT. Tunas and the plant in
Megamall Batam.
The journey continued on to the next
city on our schedule. We went to Medan
where MMS shot both on land and aerial
in Belawan. With no time to spare, the
team then flew to Jambi where we
found ourselves going up and down
hills just to get to the power plant in this
region. The weather had been merciful
throughout our four-day trip, which
di mana kami menemukan diri kami
menaiki dan menuruni bukit untuk sampai
ke pembangkit tenaga listrik di daerah
tersebut. Cuaca telah bermurah hati
sepanjang empat hari perjalanan kami
yang memungkinkan hasil pengambilan
video dan foto yang baik untuk profil
perusahaan. Tim lalu berangkat ke
Sorong dan mengambil gambar disana.
Cuaca menjadi kendala disini namun
kami tetap berhasil mendapatkan
beberapa gambar yang menakjubkan
baik dari pengambilan gambar di darat
dan udara.
Jakarta adalah pemberhentian terakhir
kami dimana kami pergi ke pembangkit
tenaga listrik Gunung Garuda. Setelah
Indonesia MMS DREAMteam melanjutkan
perjalanan ke Thailand, Myanmar dan
Singapura untuk menyelesaikan semua
pengembilan gambar.
Keseluruhan perjalanan adalah sebuah
pembuktian dimana Navigat Energy
dan MaxPower telah memberikan
kesempatan bagi daerah-daerah
terpencil untuk memilki tenaga listrik. Hal
resulted in great pictures and videos
for the company profile.
The team then went to Sorong and
shot the power plant there. Here the
weather became an obstacle but we still
managed to take some amazing shots,
both the ground and the air.
Jakarta was our last stop where we went
to the Gunung Garuda power plant.
After Indonesia MMS DREAMteam went
out to Thailand, Myanmar and Singapore
to complete the shooting.
The whole trip was a revelation on how
Navigat Energy and MaxPower has
given an opportunity for remote places
to harness electricity. Thus leading to
exponential local economical growth.
At the end Navigator would like to thank
every department as well as the power
plant Project Managers that supported
the production to run smoothly without
any meaningful obstacles.
Our gratitude goes to Mr. Eduard Ihot
Sinaga as Palembang’s Borang power
ini membantu petumbuhan ekonomi
lokal secara eksponential. Pada akhirnya
Navigator ingin mengucapkan banyak

in Riau
On the island of Sumatra, in
the region of Pelalawan Riau, Navigat built
a power plant for Langgam Power, utilizing
latest technology. With its electrical output
of 15 Mega Watt, the power plant helps the
region to increase its ratio of electrification
from current 21, to about 41 %.
The survey, and detailed planning started
early 2012. The construction of the
plant began in October 2012 and after
commissioning in July 2013, the plant starts
its operation.
By utilizing 5 gas engines, type 620, from
GE Jenbacher, one of the world’s leading
manufactures of gas fueled engines,
the project aims to initiate growth in
Pelalawan’s electricity supply.
The GE Jenbacher Type 6 has long service
intervals, a maintenance-friendly engine
design, and low fuel consumption, to ensure
maximum efficiency.
With the 2nd phase on its way, another 15
Mega Watt Langgam Power plant, the ratio
of electrification can be further increased
to 61%.
At the final stage Langgam Power plans
to generate 50 Mega Watt, which means,
blackouts in the Pelalawan region can be

Bertempat di pulau Sumatera, di wilayah
Pelalawan Riau, Langgam Power dan
pemerintah setempat membangun
sebuah pembangkit tenaga listrik, dengan
menggunakan teknologi terkini. Dengan
daya output sebesar 15 Mega Watt,
pembagkit tenaga listrik ini membantu
meningkatkan rasio eleftrifikasi wilayah
tersebut dari 21 % menjadi sekitar 41 %.
Survei, dan perencanaan yang rinci dimulai
pada awal tahun 2012. Pembangunan
pembangkit tenaga listrik ini dimulai
pada bulan Oktober 2012 dan setelah
proses commissioning di bulan Juli 2013,
pembangkit tenaga listrik ini memulai
operasinya.
Dengan menggunakan 5 mesin bertenaga
gas, tipe 620, dari GE Yenbacher, salah
satu perusahaan yang memproduksi mesin
berbahan bakar gas terkemuka di dunia,
proyek ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan
pasokan listrik ke wilayah Pelalawan secara
luas.
Tipe 6 dari GE Yenbacher, memiliki
kemampuan beroperasi dengan waktu
yang lama, desain perawatan yang
sederhana, dan konsumi bahan bakar yang
rendah, untuk memastikan efisiensi yang
maksimum.
Dengan berjalannya tahap kedua, sebuah
pembangkit tenaga listrik Langgam
power berdaya 15 Mega watt berikutnya,
rasio elektrifikasi wilayah tersebut dapat
ditingkatkan lagi menjadi 61 %.
Untuk di masa yang akan datang Langgam
power berencana untuk menghasilkan 50
Mega watt, yang berarti, pemadaman
listrik di wilayah Pelalawan dapat dikurangi
hingga titik minimum.
Dengan komitmen yang kuat untuk
mendukung wilayah tersebut, Langgam
power berusaha untuk membantu populasi
dan industry local dengan pembangunan
yang dilakukannya untuk masa depan yang
cerah.

Induction
Program
for
New Hire
On 29-30 July 2013, the HR team
organized an Induction Program,
which was addressed to the new
employees that just joined Navigat
Energy. This program lasted for two
days and on each day 12 employees
joined this program at Navigat Energy’s
head office. In total 24 new employees
participated in this Induction Program.
The Induction Program has the purpose
that new employees learn more about
Navigat Energy and the functions
inside. Besides that, this activity also
served as a place for new employees
to know each other better. There were
several departments that participated in
giving presentations, which are Human
Resources (HR), Quality Health Safety
Environment (QHSE), Purchasing – Supply
Chain Management (SCM), Information
& Technology (IT) and also Finance &
Accounting (F&A).
Pada tanggal 29-30 Juli 2013, tim
HR menyelenggarakan Induction
Program yang ditujukan kepada
beberapa karyawan yang baru
bergabung di Navigat Energy. Program
ini dilaksanakan selama 2 hari yang tiap
harinya terdiri dari 12 karyawan baru di
Head Office Navigat Energy. Total ada
24 orang karyawan baru yang mengikuti
Induction Program ini.
Tujuan dilaksanakannya Induction
Program ini adalah agar para karyawan
yang baru bergabung mengetahui
lebih dalam tentang Navigat Energy
dan fungsi-fungsi yang ada di
dalamnya. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga
bertujuan agar para karyawan baru
lebih mengenal satu dengan lainnya.
Ada beberapa departemen yang
berpartisipasi dalam memberikan
presentasi, yaitu Human Resources
(HR), Quality Health Safety Environment
(QHSE), Purchasing - Supply Chain
Management (SCM), Information &

sesi tanya-jawab dimana peserta dapat
bertanya lebih lanjut mengenai topik
yang membutuhkan informasi lebih
lanjut.
Kegiatan ini akan terus dilakukan
dalam periode waktu tertentu.
Diharapkan departemen lain juga dapat
berpartisipasi dalam Induction Program
selanjutnya.

On June 19 & 20, 2013, Navigat
Group participated in Standard
Chartered’s third annual Earth’s
Resources Forum in Hong Kong. Overall,
the event was discussing how the world
is going to look over the next five years
as Asia, Africa and the Middle East’s
dominance continues to grow as the
leading producers and consumers of the
most essential commodities.
The conference is one of Standard
Chartered Bank’s biggest annual events
and was attended by a number of
investors as well as energy, infrastructure,
power and mining companies such
as African Minerals Limited, China
Merchants New Energy Group Ltd, Enviro
Energy International Holdings Limited and
Royal Dutch Shell PLC.
Mr. Arnold Hendriks, CFO of Navigat
Group, was invited as one of the guest
speakers at this prestigious event. We
are proud to be a part of this event
because we were one of the two
privately owned companies presenting
at the conference. Mr. Arno showcased
Navigat group to investors, other energy
companies and also to senior Standard
Chartered Bank executives.
The presentation was well received
hence reassuring Navigat Group as
one of the leading distributed power
companies in Asia.

For this occasion I would like
to extend my gratitude to Navigat
Group for the all expense trip to
The Middle East (Egypt, Israel &
Jordan), which I embarked on
from 13th May 2013 to 24th May
2013. First and foremost I’d like to
thank the almighty, Navigat B.O.D,
especially Mr.Willi, Mr.Seb, Mr.Arno
and Mr.Greg Karpinsky from Standard
Chartered for this benefit program,
my companions Mr. Andhi & Mr.
Firman (Umroh Program) as well as
my superiors & colleagues for their

This trip was of great significance
for me, a person who subscribes
to an Abrahamic faith. A trip of a
more spiritual nature was on that
enlightened me on how to deal with

Kwetiau à la Thai Ingredients:
1. 200 gr. Kwetiau, boiled
2. ½ teaspoon fish sauce
3. 1 table spoon oyster sauce
4. ½ tea spoon soy sauce
5. ½ tea spoon sesame oil
6. ¾ tea spoon salt
7. ½ tea spoon ground pepper
Mixture:
1. 3 cloves garlic, mashed
2. 2 large red chilli, fine
3. 10 stalks chives, cut into 2 cm
4. ½ Chinese bean curd, cut 11/2x3x1, fried
5. 100 gr. bean sprouts
6. 2 eggs, beaten off
7. 2 table spoons oil to saute
How to make:
1. Saute garlic and red chili until fragrant.
Set aside. Add the eggs until grainy.
Add Chinese bean curd. Stir well.
2. Put in the kwetiau, mix well. Stamp fish
sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce,
sesame oil, salt, pepper, chives, and
bean sprouts. Stir well. Serve.
