For each tool, it lists a definition, potential applications, pros, cons, and examples. The presentation was created for an education course and draws on resources from Educause and a book on using web tools in classrooms.

 Definition: social networking site – users interact
via criteria-based set of networks
 Application: join social/professional network

 Cons: privacy and judgement issues

 Definition: “photo-sharing site where one can

8. PODCAST
 Definition: software/hardware that allows
publishing/transmitting content via the Web
 Application: create, publish tailored audio files
 Pros: enable portable education
