8. At the height of the waste tire problem in the US, in
1990, there were 1 Billion waste tires in stockpiles
across our country, and the number has been
steadily decreasing, thanks in part to the RCC
Scrap tire workgroup.
9. RCC Scrap Tire Workgroup consisted of 80 individuals from Federal, State, Industry,
& Academia whose goal was to prevent pollution, promote reuse & recycling, conserve
energy & materials.
