He has received numerous first place awards for his columns and writing from organizations like the Hoosier State Press Association and Associated Press. As Sports Editor for the Johnson County Daily Journal from 1991-2016, Morwick supervised a staff of 10 writers, planned content, and wrote features on high school, college, professional, and amateur sports.
