2. The Large Black font is one of the main focal
points of the entire poster. It really stands
out and promotes the feelings of strength
and power. Also we liked as a group how
this really stands out and is very obvious and
could be easily seem.
The costumes in this poster are very
understated and do not draw much
attention. They are standered clothes
that anyone would wear. However he
is wearing a tank top. This kind of
clothing is commonly associated with
gyms and strength again promoting
feelings of strength.
The main focal point of the entire
poster is Macklemore. He is standing in
a casual but empowering position. Also
the top he is wearing works very well
with the effect used to show of the
muscle definition in his arms. Again this
help to show he is powerful and this
gives you a feeling of the type of album
this will be.
Macklemore as got a very modern and
fashionable hair style
A comic book affect is used in this
photo. This is a very good affect as it
used black and white shades to show
the pictures. This makes it very easy to
outline things that you want to. The
editors have used this to outline the
glasses and Macklemore’s muscle’s.
Along with the other aspects of the
photo the artist is presented as very
strong and independent and the poster
very obviously shows the genre of the
artist.
3. This poster is for The Black Keys tour.
The main focal point of poster is the 2 men standing up
together and fighting against something. We have used
this to inspire us on our poster design and have also
gone for the 2 men standing together. This standing
promotes feeling of power and dominance within the
industry, this is the feeling we are going for within our
poster.
There is a use of lots a wide variety of colours.
This was a feature of the poster that made us
think on spontaneity and this was not an affect
we wanted from our posters so we did not
feature bold colours a lot in posters.
The dates at the top are very small and do
not draw a lot of attention. The boldness
of the text and the men draws your eye to
the poster so you want to search and find
out the dates. We have used this in some
of our poster as we think it is a really good
technique to draw people into the poster.
When you look at a lot of other black keys
posters they are all very different and they
all stand out. This is to promote each
concert differently. Some poster draw
people in wit lots os usefull information.
This poster however relies on its use of
vibrant colours to draw the eye of people
and get people to go to the concert.
4. This is the website for The Artic
Monkeys. The website is very
minimalistic using only black and
white for there colours. This website
relies on the information and videos
to entertain people and does not rely
on bright colour to entertain people
and draw them in.
The 2 large empty spaces on
either side of the text help to
draw attention to the
information at the middle.
The main signer in the video is
wearing a leather jacket and
boots. This is instantly
recognisable with rockers.
This made us want to out
emphasis on the picture on
the website as they give so
munch information about the
band.
The black and white theme
throughout the website is
matching with there album
cover and poster. This synergy
is very goo at create a brand
from just a few pieces of
media.
At the top of the page
there are lots of tabs
that take the user to
lots of different areas of
the website. This makes
it a lot easier to
navigate and make your
way around the
website. In turn this
means that people will
have a better
experience on our
website and are more
likely to support the
band.
5. This is the Foo fighters website. This
website is very simplistic and uses
emphasis on using picture to entice
people instead of using information.
This pictures is the main focal point of
the website. The picture is from a high
angle and this makes it feel as though
the viewer is on the top of the world
and makes you feel very powerful and
good about the album.
At the top of page there are many tabs
at the tops of the page so that users
can get to many different parts of the
website easily and they will enjoy there
experience more. We feel this is a very
important feature to have on a website
and will defiantly feature in our
website.
The blurred region to the sides
of the page are a subtle but very
important feature of this
website. They make the viewer
focus on the image and text in
the middle and also is a very
professional look to have on a
website. The position of the
camera in the picture and the
blurred sides really make the
used focus on the image and
give feelings of elatedness and
power.
