1. THE DUPONT CEO FORUM
Accelerating Sustainable Growth Through Innovation & Collaboration
Dubai – 24-25 September 2013
2. THE DUPONT CEO FORUM
Accelerating Sustainable Growth Through Innovation & Collaboration
introduction
As uncertainty and complexity continue to define the context in which businesses
operate, executives are facing pressures to become more competitive and agile, while also
delivering tangible value for consumers and society. To further complicate matters, this is
occurring within an operating climate defined by immediate challenges, such as volatile
commodity prices and stiffening competition, as well as longer-term challenges, such as
demographic and technological change.
To compete within this context, executives must balance shareholder accountability with
stakeholder concerns, and company success with social progress. In doing so, executives
can serve as agents of societal betterment – providing products and services that not only
address a market need, but the expectations of consumers and society – while accessing
new markets, creating demand and spurring growth.
In light of this, Ellen Kullman, Chair of the Board and CEO, DuPont, is convening
an executive forum to provide insight and spark dialogue about innovation and
collaboration as a means to transform company culture and accelerate growth.
Participants will be able to interact with one another, share best practices, and forge new
contacts with executives of leading companies around the world.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 2013 DuPont Executive Forum in Dubai.

9.30am – 10.30am PANEL DISCUSSION
Driving Sustainable Growth Amongst Complexity
Moderator: James Weigand, President, DuPont Sustainable Solutions
In light of tepid growth projections and volatile market dynamics within emerging and developed
economies alike, companies are faced with the challenge of augmenting agility and speed and driving
growth concurrently. Within this context, how can companies best compete? Panellists will speak to
this issue, as well as the role of sustainable business practices, collaboration and innovation in achieving
improved outcomes, both for business and society.
10.30am – 11.00am BREAK
11.00am – 12.00pm PANEL DISCUSSION
Securing our Energy Future
Moderator: Dave Miller, President, DuPont Electronics & Communications
By 2050, global energy demand is projected to double spurred on by population growth that will
exceed nine billion, rapidly industrialising economies, and a rise in the standard of living in many
developing countries. The future of energy will depend on the interplay of a number of factors
including increasing levels of efficiency, supply & demand management, innovation, government
policy, and the transitions to renewable energy sources. In this panel, leading energy experts will discuss
shifting global energy patterns and address key technologies, energy trends and strategies that will power
us toward a cleaner and more efficient future.
6. 12.00pm – 1.30pm LUNCH
1.30pm – 2.30pm PANEL DISCUSSION
Building Nutrition and Health in a Growing Population
Moderator: Craig Binetti, President, DuPont Nutrition & Health
Ensuring that enough healthy, nutritious food is available for people everywhere is one of the
most critical challenges facing humanity. The need for both affordable and nutritious food to feed
growing populations in the Middle East and beyond is a growing concern. Panellists will address
these issues across the value chain – from agricultural development to food distribution.
2.30pm – 3.30pm PANEL DISCUSSION
Promoting Sustainability and Growth in Emerging Regions
Moderator: Ian Hudson, President, DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa
Sustainable development as a concept emphasises a holistic, equitable and long-term approach
to decision-making at all levels. It emphasises not just strong economic performance, but
intergenerational equity, and the integration of social, economic and environmental goals and
objectives. As the world shifts its focus to emerging markets, how can multinationals develop local
capabilities and support the sustainable growth in developing regions? Panellists will explore the
approaches, models and strategies that lead to business success and the creation of social value.
3.30pm – 3.45pm BREAK
3.45pm – 4.45pm MODERATED SESSION
Identify common themes around Sustainability that arise from the 4 panels.
• How can leaders drive improved operational performance and stimulate sustainable growth in a
volatile economic climate?
• What is an acceptable risk profile – political, economic and social – within the new global
paradigm?
• How do you balance the need for long-term investments in sustainability and the need to
deliver short-term results?
