About Reverse Engineering 
Reverse engineering finds huge application in bringing innovation in the 
development of mechanical components. Engineers often adopt the RE technique 
to determine flaws in the existing design or to develop better knowledge about the 
component design. 
While there have been several allegations that there has been more misuse of 
reverse engineering to study competitor products, there are reasons why reverse
