Summary
Introduction
The purpose of this accomplishments briefing is to give a panoramic view of my pro-
fessional contributions at the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) within
the past year. This professional snapshot also highlights my current contributions.
Adding Value
My goal is to improve the culture of the Business Systems Analyst Team and the
Management Information Systems department at large. Therefore, I have focused my
efforts on creating sustainable requirements, risk, change and communication man-
agement solutions to build up the Organization Process Assets (OPA). I leverage Pro-
ject Management and Business Analysis best practices.

Provided the development team with insights on what we could have done better on
the IMC Phase 1 project so we can incorporate them into future projects.

IMPACT
The development team garnered a better understanding of how to integrate the invalid
processing and backup worksheet mechanisms in a proprietary financial system.

tions (C-SMART)

Professional
Achievements
6. Managed scope baseline to prevent scope creep and
gold plating.
IMPACT
The development team focuses only on the agreed upon requirements.

IMPACT
Allowed the project team to obtain a high level overview regarding the project pur-
pose, assumptions, constraints and sponsor approval before requirements were
elicited and documented.
8. Created software project change request to implement change management.
IMPACT
Any stakeholder who wants to initiate a change on a software project must fill out a
form which will then be evaluated by a change control board.
9. Developed high level business requirements and detailed technical specifications.
IMPACT
Provided development team with a clear road map for programming applications
with regard to business needs, user stories, application conditions, business rules
and system acceptance criteria.
Highlights
Since rolling out a proprietary Independent Expenditure Disclosure System (IEDS)
Phase 2 upgrade in August 2015 independent spenders; end users, were able to
report $35K+ in expenditures Q4 of 2015.
New Skills
Since Q3 of 2015 these are the additional skills I have cultivated:
Database Design: Created entity relationship diagram (ERD) of system inter-
actions to enforce referential integrity by linking primary keys and foreign keys with
junction tables to ensure integrity of the data and avoid orphan data.
Data Conversion Testing: Used MS SQL Server to ensure data from old data-
base table columns are going into the new database table columns.
Data Dictionary: Defined system objects, junction tables and data types.

strength is to identify and clarify their requirements. I imple-
ment systems solutions against scope, time, quality and re-
source constraints.” - Richard Cummings
