This document summarizes a presentation given by Prof. R. Cloots on behalf of the Group of Research in Energy & Environment from MATerials at the University of Liege. The group's areas of expertise include materials for energy production and storage, functionalized glass and steel, nanostructured films, and microanalysis for environmental monitoring. A key project discussed is Solarcycle, which involves collecting and recycling "out of order" photovoltaic units to achieve 80% recycling and 85% material recovery by 2019 in accordance with European regulations.
