Regional Gas Company has completed the 1st stage
of hydrogen testing project in the distribution system
The RGC has joined the EU Hydrogen Strategy and conducted Ukraine-first exper-
iment on hydrogen utilization in the gas distribution system and completed the
1st stage of the testing. The first stage of the testing of gas networks for compat-
ibility with hydrogen has been carried out at the RGC testing areas in Volyn, Dni-
propetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kharkiv regions. During experiments
on closed sections of gas pipelines, the concentration of hydrogen was 99%. This
is one of the highest indicators in Europe when testing systems designed for
natural gas transportation.
Due to the high concentration of hydrogen, data were obtained in the first days
of experiments that allowed specialists to adjust the equipment of gas testing
sites. After that, the drop in hydrogen pressure in gas pipelines decreased by 5-6
times.
Field tests at the RGC testing sites will last until mid-2022, and will allow to assess
the specifics of the use of hydrogen and hydrogen gas mixtures during two heat-
ing periods.
RGC Production is on the rise
The new RGC Production facility located in Lviv and Sumy, provides high-quality
products to gas distribution companies and has orders for 20 years to come
taking into account the need to replace the outdated infrastructure of the gas
sector in Ukraine. Since the launch in May 2019, production volumes have
increased 6-fold, and the plant's equipment has been installed on gas pipelines in
16 regions of Ukraine.
RGC Production cooperates with such well-known global companies as Pietro
Fiorentini, Emerson/Tartarini, Itron, Honeywell, Sick, Cavagna Group, AVK,
Bonomi, etc.
The company produces gas-regulating equipment, has its own design bureau
and an automated production cycle with robotic welding.

Mobile laboratory on gas leakages detection already
running in Ukraine
The certification of mobile laboratories built on Toyota Hilux and equipped with
Gazomat devices has been completed. During the test period in Zhytomyr, Cher-
nivtsi and Kharkiv, more than 200 km of underground gas pipelines of medium
and low pressure were examined and five leaks were found on the gas pipelines.
Soon, these laboratories will operate in every region covered by RGC brand DSOs
presence.
