KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Financial - Heavily involved in the refinancing of private equity owned business: Repaid debt early. Reduced
financing costs and extended working capital facilities. Built strong relationships with the 3rd parties involved.
Strengthening the company’s balance sheet and improving profits.
- Reviewed Tobacco guarantees (£13.5m) with suppliers following float, able to reduce guarantee with one
supplier, reducing costs associated with it.
- Full clean audits always achieved under UK Gaap and IFRS once floated.
Strategic – As board director: More closely involved in the strategic direction of the company and more
responsibility, key part of the change programme introduced with new CEO. Changed some of the internal
company processes to be more corporate and structured with clearer lines of communication and
accountability.
- Played a core part in floating CVR on the AIM market in around 10 weeks whilst doing the year end audit: Very
successful float (market valuation £65.5m) and clean audit. Enabling the company to expand debt free.
Commercial – Prepared business case and reviewed due diligence to decide which stores to buy from the
Rhythm & Booze stable (paid £1.5m). Enabling the company to only take on stores that had the potential to
turn around and expand the territory and brands into Yorkshire.
Operational - Choosing and implementing a new accounts and payroll package, still being used 12 years later
as flexible enough to grow with the company. Streamlined processes as both the same supplier and flexible
enough to allow additional divisions to be added easily to improve reporting, variance analysis and budgeting.

Full Driving licence.
Payroll and HR experience in particular with RTI, SIP schemes and introducing auto enrolment
Bonded Warehouse experience with duty requirements for alcohol
