Ravi spentseveral yearsworkingata U.S.-basedconsultinggroupknownforitsinnovativeandeffectiveprogramin
large-scale safetyculture,performance,andprojectmanagementwithin the oil andgasindustry.He has coached
managersand leadersthroughoutthe U.S.,Africa,andAsiainhow to improve personal performance,manage teams,
and collaborate withstakeholders. Inthe aidand developmentworld,Ravi designedandledinnovative
transformational approachesandmethodologiesforawide range of applications: buildingcapacity,strengthening
institutions,enhancingleadershipskills,buildingpartnershipsandalliances,andtrainingof trainers(TOT) at various
agencies andpublicinstitutions.Hismethodologieshave provensuccessfulinseveral countriesworkingwithsuchclients
as UNDP, UNICEF,USAID,and DFID. He was a keyconsultantin designingandsubsequentlyconductingamulti-
stakeholderLeadership Alliance forHIV/AIDStraininginseveral countriesfrom2001-2005 (onbehalf of the UNDP).
Similarly,as aconsultant,he designedandfacilitated amanagementprogramforUNICEF& GatesFoundation inSouth
Asiangovernmenthospitals.
In the U.S., he trainedundernotable innovators suchasFernandoFlores, knownforhisworkinthe area of language and
commitment,orpromise-basedmanagement;ProfessorDavidCooperriderof Case WesternUniversity,co-creatorof
AppreciativeInquiry,astrengthbasedmanagementapproach; wascertifiedasaEQ coach by The Hay Group (USA),a
leadingHRcompany in emotional intelligence;andthe LandmarkForumgroup(USA) pioneers inpersonal change and
transformation.Ravi waseducatedbyAmericanJesuitsinKathmanduandwenttocomplete hisMBA at Delhi University
inIndia.Throughouthislife,he hasthrivedlivingandworkingatseveral intersections: businessandsocial development;
East and West;and Buddhismandmodernmanagement.
Startingin1981, he began to studyand practice meditation underBuddhistmasters.Mindfulnessisconsideredtobe the
foundationforall Buddhistmeditative practice, andhe hascompleteddozensof retreatswiththese masters. He has
alsocompletedthe MBSRprograms of the Centerfor Mindfulness/USA, MindfulSchools/USA,Mindfulnessin
Schools/UKandMindfulnesswithoutBorders/Canada.He isnow trainingteachersinaprivate school inIndia,having
done a similarprogramforan international school inVietnam.
Ravi is alsopilotingasemesterlongprogramforstudentsof the Vellore Institute of TechnologyinChennai,India,andis
indiscussionwithAIT/Thailandtoofferasimilarprogram.Recently,he hasbeenaskedbyMahidol University’sCenter
for ContemplativeStudiestocollaborate indevelopingtheirfacultyinprovidingamindfulness/EQ basedtrainingsto
Thai companiesandpublicinstitutions. InIndia,he isofferingabasictrainingformental healthprofessionalsaswell.
Recently,Ravi signedacollaborative agreementwiththe Boulder/USbasednon-profitcalledPassageworksInstitute
(http://passageworks.org/) todevelopcertifiedmastertrainersinAsia –whocan in turn trainteachersat a more
reasonable fee.CalledSMARTASIA,itisa mindfulnessbasedEQtraining.The firstcourse isschedule for2017.
